Here is the list of documents
1. Cover Letter
2. Application form - SET (0). Completed and Signed.
3. BRP Card - 3 (1 main applicant + 2 dependants)
4. Passports - 6 (2 each for all the applicants. 1 expired and 1 current)
5. Photos - 6 (2 each for all the applicants. Full Name written on the back)
6. Personal Bank Statement from March-2014 to May-2015.
7. Salary Slips from March-2014 to Feb-2015 (This is continuous 12 months from the last 15 months). The salary slips are on official letter head and signed and stamped.
8. LIUK Certificate - 2 (One for myself and one for my wife).
9. IELTS Certificate - 1(I used the same IELTS to prove my English in initial Tier 1 G application in 2009).
10. Master's degree for my wife. I am submitting my wife's master's degree for her KOLL requirement
11. PBS Calculator to show my wife's degree in the NARIC database
12. NARIC letter - 1 (We have a NARIC letter also which confirms my wife's degree is meeting the English requirement).

13. Council Letter for last 3 years which has my name and my wife's name
14. Electricity/Gas bill for last 2 years (online printed from a coloured printer). The bills have both our names
15. Water bill for last 2 years (Online printed from a coloured printer). The bills have both our names
16. Voter's card for May'2015 general elections
17. Driving license counterpart for self and my wife which shows our address

18. Employment history from HMRC. I have got last 4 years of employment history. I asked for this in April and as HMRC did not have my history of the current year, they have only given me last 4 years.
19. I have got form P45 for the current year
20. Master's degree and points based calculator for self. As the original degree is not mandatory to claim points for qualification, I will not submit it but keep it as a backup

For all the 5 years (upto Feb this year), I have been a permanent employee. I started doing contracting since March this year. To keep my application simple, I am only considering my earnings from permanent job. However, in my cover letter, I will inform the HO about this and will submit the accountant letter and will say that if you need any documents to see, I will be happy to show. I will keep all the company (self employment) letters/papers as a backup.

Hi Rukmesh,

If your earnings is starting from March 2014, is the 15 month period not ending on May 2015? Sorry if I am wrong but thought worth checking.

You are correct. The rule says that I can select any consecutive 12 months from the last 15 months. So, I have selected Mar-2014 to Feb-2015. Is it any confusing ?

I read in the Tier 1 Policy guidance (could not find anything corresponding to ILR) that it is the calendar month i.e if you are applying on 29th June 2015 then the 15 month period would be 29th Mar 2014 - 28th Jun 2015.

In my opinion if you have appointment on 29th June 2015 then you can claim your earnings from 29th March 2014 (the latest), not before that.

Thanks a lot guys for your concerns.

I would submit from March-14 to Feb-15. Even if they exclude my March-14 salary, I am way above the mark so not much of a concern. :-)

Cheers

ahhh ok ... :)

I am diverting off the topic here for a couple of questions of mine.

In the Photographs and Documents checklist, for "Bank Statements - How Many?" - Did you write the total number of bank statements that you are submitting? For example, for 12 months if there are 24 pages of bank statements, did you write 24 in there?

And in the "Other Documents - How Many?" - Did you mention all the original documents that you are submitting for proof of Cohabitation?

I have written "Bank Statements from March-2014 to May-2015" in that section

For cohabitation documents also, I have written in a descriptive way.

Bank statement is always considered one, does not matter how many page. If they are from two banks then they wud be two and so on.

It would be good to know the option chosen in SET(O) for someone who is using expired IELTS which he/she presented during initial Tier(1) application.

I (Tier1(G) Main applicant) am in the same situation and will be submitting in September for ILR and thinking the option to choose is

"An ESOL qualification at Entry Level 3, Level 1 or Level 2 , that includes speaking and listening which has been regulated by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). It must be listed as an ESOL qualification on the Ofqual Register and taken in England, Wales or Northern Ireland; OR"

Also, my wife's IELTS is expired (given in 2011) but it wasn't presented for Tier1(G) dependent application as it was never required but since it was given in UK and has got "Ofqual" logo at the back, so it will work for her.

I hope I am correct in my understanding of the guidance documents. Please correct me If I am wrong.

Xpired IELTS would not work if it has not been used with any previous application.

naeem you are correct.

I had written to home office about the English Language requirement and they said the same. They sent me a document (FAQ kind of document and one section of the document said this
----------------------------------------------------
Some qualifications are only valid for 2 years for immigration purposes. For settlement
applications, we will accept one of the qualifications on LIST A that has passed the
expiry date, if:
 The qualification has previously been accepted by us in connection with another
immigration application, e.g. for entry clearance, or
 (if it is being presented for the first time) it was taken in the UK, and is on the
OFQUAL register.
The expiry dates do not apply to citizenship applications.

Validity dates of ESOL qualifications listed in Appendix O of the Immigration Rules, or on the OFQUAL register, will not be applied for settlement applications, provided either:
 the qualification has previously been accepted for another immigration application
 if it is being presented for the first time, that it was taken in:
o England and was regulated by OFQUAL
o Wales and was regulated by the Welsh government
o Northern Ireland and was regulated by the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA)
o Scotland and was regulated by the SQA

So, that is what I am saying. Based on 2nd option "(if it is being presented for the first time) it was taken in the UK, and is on the
OFQUAL register.", my wife's expired IELTS, taken in UK with OFQUAL stamp at the back of the certificate, should work for ILR even though it was not presented in earlier applications as she is Tier1(G) dependent and didn't have this requirement for her initial and extension applications.

Am I correct in my understanding then?
