Family visit visa

Hello,
I needed some help please. I will be applying for my parents family visit visa via vfs. Now they have an online form as opposed to manual form. There is a section for parents details. The issue is that my dad and mom do not know their parents DOB details. What should I put as their DOB? Should i just put 01/01/1900 and write a letter stating that this info is not available? Is there any guidance available?
