On 22 July an inquiry into the Tier 2 Skilled Workers system is launched. Could this be a reason to hold the report?shannon5g wrote:The first stage report was supposed to come out yesterday, but the MAC website is still not updated until now.
Any idea what's happening?
sagareva wrote:Hi folks, the dreaded MAC call for evidence in Tier 2 route review is out, considering -
1. Tier 2 to be applied to shortage occupations ONLY -- basically a possible end to Tier 2

Forget about getting ILR even getting an externsion after 3 years will be not possible for most of the Tier 2 holders. Still they might not raise it to that extent but it is always a possibility.
My advise is to get it done as soon as possible. Doing it earlier would loose you nothing but doing it later has chances for disapproval in case rules changes....JS28 wrote:My extension is due IN march 2016 and I qualify for ILR through 10 yrs route in July 2016. Do you think it's best to get my visa renewed before December 2015?

It is up to the government whether to accept any recommendation or not.
So the answer to your question is - only when the government decides to accept MAC recommendations (partially or wholly) and introduces the change(s) to immigration rules.
