No Absence Letter from Previous Employer

Post by atrang » Mon Jul 06, 2015 11:24 am

Hi there gurus and fellow members,

I need your help and guidance on the topic of Letter of Absence from previous employer to be used in ILR application. I am on T-1 General and was earlier employed full time by a renowned IT company in UK before shifting to being self employed just before my extension application in 2012. Now, for my ILR application, I requested a letter of absence from my last employer detailing my paid leaves during my employment with them. I also provided them with my detailed leave dates. However, they now say that the letter cannot be issued as they are not able to verify the leave dates and instead, they have only provided me with the Employement Reference letter which does not mention anything about the absences.
Now my worry is that my ILR application should not be suffering just because of a single missing letter, so wanted to know from you guys about how important the letter is and what should I do in absence of such a letter from my previous employer.

Your help and guidance in this matter will be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You can take a covering letter of absences.

It shouldn't be a problem if you are not out of the country for over 180 days in an year.

Will only the self explanation letter suffice ?

I do not have more than 50 days leave in any year, so that way I am fine. But I am just worried about the Absence Letter from Previous Employer.
I am planning to attach the mail communiation I have had with the HR dept of the employer, just to show that I had tried to get the letter but HR could not provide because they could not verify the dates.

Thanks.
