nachfee wrote:Hello there,
Glad to see Feb applicants getting their residences.

One question, seems like a lot of people requested their passports back. Can I ask why? Was it solemnly due to the fact that you needed to travel? Or did you feel like the application would be easier? Or safer?
If you don't get your visa (refused) is it easier for a reconsideration if you have your passports with you?

My application is a little bit complicated (reapplying myself for the EEA2 for convenience and first time for my parents' EEA2)
I'm worried that we may not getting and then it gets more complicated if the HO have the passports with them

Please let me know.

Many thanks for your contributions
Hi nachfee can you please contact me, need some help regarding EEA2 please
Thanks

Toto, someone recently mentioned that COAs were taking up to three weeks in worse cases, sometimes you can have them as quick as one week.

June 10th is almost a month away now, I would try and call to find out what is going on.

Dear bil123
Could let me know if they called you for biometrics as well?
And how does it look like your visa now? Is it a sticker or a Card?
Many thanks for your useful post and your time.

hi

do yo ureceive the COA after the biometrics are taken ?
i'm wondering if royal mail lost the COA letter, if it wasn't send to me, but the biometrics were taken so i have a reference number.

i might give them one more week before trying to reach them, maybe they are late with holidays

Hi there!
I am an Indian citizen. My spouse is Slovakian citizen. I have Temporary residential Card. We want to move to UK. I applied for EEA family permit. I want to know that:

1. After having EEA family permit, if I always need my EU spouse to enter in UK in EEA family permit validity?
2. As I read EEA family permit include work permit, If my spouse come to visit to Slovakia for 2 months then is it illegal to work for me that time though I have 6 months family permit?
3. For EEA resident card, is it mandatory for my wife to get a job?
4. If I arrange a job but my wife cannot arrange a job then can we apply for EEA resident permit?
5. If I arrange a job before my wife, can I apply for work permit visa?
6. How long we need to stay in UK to get EEA resident permit?

Please assist me if you can.

Mayakanon, lots of questions, let me try to help a bit from my experience, and maybe someone else can complement.

1. WITH the family permit it is not necessary for you to enter the UK with your wife, although it may make things a bit easier.
2. Family permits may or may not include work permit. Once you arrive with your family permit, you apply for your residence card, which again, may or may not have a right to work, The residence card application needs to be done while you are here in the UK.
3. For you to get a residence card, it is necessary for your wife to exercise treaty rights, and for you to be able to prove it. She needs to be working, studying, be self-sufficient or looking for work. You will need to get private medical insurance for at least a year when you send in your application for the residence card.
4 - 5. Same as the answer before. You can get a job with your family permit if your family permit enables you to do so. The same with your residence card. In these cases it is not as important what YOU are doing, but what your SPONSOR (wife in this case) is doing.
6. Residence card decisions may take up to six months. People here in the forum have been getting it as quick as 4 months and some go over the six months, it will all depend on how solid your case is. By solid I mean, being able to prove your marriage is valid, that your wife is exercising treaty rights, that you won´t need benefits to get by, etc, etc.

I hope this helped out a bit, let me know if you have any other questions.

What was the reason given for your COA to have no right to work?

Thank you for your reply. It helps me much. To be clear, if my EEA family permit include work permit and my spouse come to visit alone to Slovakia for 2-4 months then is it illegal to work for me that time though I have 6 month family permit?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

If you have your family permit, and you find work with it, it shouldn´t be a problem for your wife to go back or for you to have a job while she is visiting Slovakia.

If you decide to apply for the residence, that may be a bit more complex.

Again, this is all based on things read and heard, don´t take me at 100%, some further research may help you for sure!

@gdevkota, I wasn´t able to reply your PM, it seems you don´t have that option available.

As far as my estimate goes, I have a optmistic estimate of 4.5 months from my date of COA (31.03) which means I hope to have everything by the week of 11.08.

I have my passport and my wife´s already, you can try asking for yours if we have the same timeline and you are in a rush!

Thanks a lot for the information. Well, I talked with one company in UK they will provide job to my wife. As my wife is pregnant so the company agree for maternal leave. And we want to apply for Resident Card. But the problem is my wife wants to stay in Slovakia and give birth in Slovakia. And I don't know how to handle it now. If the inquiry from Resident Permit come about her, and they found she is in Slovakia in that time, can I simply show her medical leave and say that she will come after delivery, does it help anyway? I feel much anxious about this...
