Post by Foreigner123 » Mon Jul 06, 2015 9:00 pm

Hi all experts

My ILR is due end of August 2016.
I would like to know, if my ILR application is successufl, do I still need a sponsor for my work or I am able to work freely without any restrictions ?

Many thanks

Yes, once you have ILR, you are free to work for any employer without any problems or issues. But make you sure you only resign once you have your ILR BRP card in your possession etc., i.e. don't be too hasty and resign on the day of in person ILR appointment for example.

Once you get your ILR you are free of immigration restrictions which means

1. You can do any type of work anywhere in the UK.
2. You are allowed to leave and re enter (do not stay outside the country for 2 years continuously though)
3. You can claim benefits such as child benefit, housing , JSA etc etc
