According to experience from other users it's taken about 6 weeks approx but their website say 28 days guessing working days that would take it to about 6 weeks max

https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/Home/ViewFAQ

Read the FAQ it states in their guidelines their refund policy
But expect to wait for 6 weeks for the refund from personal knowledge

I got some email the other day saying that Australia needed 100,000 immigrants and they are trying to attract skilled immigrants. You don't have to pay the fee unless you get the visa. Generally our economic well being is linked to attracting immigration, and with the decline in birth rates across the world the competition for skilled immigrants will increase in the future to pay for our ageing populations.

As far as the new rules go to explain the sponsor is able to send the documents off to sheffield as soon as the online application form is submitted ... the GWF number needs to be written on the documents and on the outside of the envelope so they are able to put the file with the correct application on the system.

So if we look at other countries let's say USA as now pakistan system will be similar to those from the states ... the applicant has 2 weeks to send the paperwork to sheffield from the biometrics date otherwise the case is withdrawn ..

Looking at the above I would say send as soon as you get the copy of your partners vaf4a form they send you and send it at near enough same time as biometrics or sooner if you get the copy earlier as this will ensure that everything is with sheffield at the time the biometric info is loaded in pakistan

Now just have to wait for user experiences I guess

To show you are meeting adequate maintenance under fm-se 1.7a
You only need to provide a award letter for both the PIP and ESA
And one bank statement within the past 12 months showing payment going into account.

Combining your PIP and ESA and taking out any housing costs (rent and council tax) should have atleast £114.85 remaining per week.

It's a good idea to get a cover sheet drafted either do it yourself or by a advice worker/ solicitor which basically would state all the documents you are sending and then how each and every section is being fulfilled stating the law and rules ..

For example your receiving PIP which makes you exempt from the financial threshold and your receiving ESA adding both these amounts you receive £xx amount and you have no housing costs as living with parents (just an example)
Weekly remaining amount is £xx amount which satisfy the rules
Chapter 1.7a of the FM rules adequate maintenance etc
All benefits can be included to meet the threshold (April 15 amended rules)

A doctor's letter just to show what the conditions are is genuinely very helpful in most cases.

The rest of the documents are as normal for example accommodation, subsisting relationship etc if you need a list for those aswel just ask.

Hope the above helps and excuse my English today if there are any errors ... feeling abit feverish
