Yes, last month. Not sure what the cutoff will be this month but do post here in case you hear from your HR.

From reading previous month's forums successful applicants seem to find out at 9am...do you think it will be the same for us?

I'm at 45 points and am so anxious about scraping through :/

Hi everyone,
Bored as I was waiting for the July panel result, I read through the two RCoS posts (June and July) again, and made a table to guess the general distribution of the scores.

There are 23 people in total sharing their scores here and applying for the July allocation.
Score Number of people
60 1
50 2
45 5
40 6
39 2
38 2
37 2
36 2
<35 1 (<=me *cries*)
-----------
Total 23

I know the sample might be able represent the whole group, but at least it gives a reference. From the table we can see that there are roughly same number of people having 40 and 45, and twice as much having 32-39.
We know that there were at least 495 people at the score of 45 last month, so the total number being rejected last month could be at least 495*4, ie roughly 2000 applications.

2000 applications @ 45 point? Or total applications in June?

Judged by the table, 2000 is the minimum number of applications being rejected in June.

Adding the 1200+ successful ones, the total number of applications in June is estimated to be at least 3200.

Judging by that, there'll probably be 3500+ applications and cutoff will probably be at 45. *time to look for a new job*

3200 - 2140 ( average of last 3 months ) = 1060

Any particular reason you can think of for a spike of 1K application in the month of June?

As a matter of fact the number is always growing at a fairly steady rate since 4 yours ago. I can't remember clearly, but if you check the study from Oxford University, you can see that only 50% of RCoS were requested in the first year, and then 65% in the second, 80% in the third, and 99% in the last year.
Reasons could be (based on my guessing):
1. Better economy creating more job opportunities
2. The policy change that Tier 2 ICT became unable to switch to ILR, making their dependents applying for Tier 2 General instead
3. The anticipated tightening of visa policies (i.e. salary rise in this Autumn & change of game rule next year) makes companies want to apply more RCoS's before the policy changes

I think It will just depend on when the panel complete their review of all applications.

There is a continuous increase in certificate of sponsorship granted but it is on a quarterly and yearly basis. If you have a look at the link below, you could see there is no steady increase between months. Although, we can't come to a conclusion for this month's allocation based on the study of Oxford University, I believe this month might be the same or even worse than June.

1. Better economy creating more job opportunities Agreed
2. The policy change that Tier 2 ICT became unable to switch to ILR, making their dependents applying for Tier 2 General instead Disagree, This route of dependents applying for Tier 2 was available since 2011 but the applications increased last month alone
3. The anticipated tightening of visa policies (i.e. salary rise in this Autumn & change of game rule next year) makes companies want to apply more RCoS's before the policy changesDisagree, Companies cannot create job openings in anticipation that rules will change in future, i hope they can't :D. There is a genuineness test that is in-place to check if the job opening actually exists at the moment.

Nope. I'll let you guys know when I hear something, don't worry. Am I really supposed to be among the first to have an update? I was assuming there was no correlation between CoS points and notification day/time.

Hi

I don't think the one who scores the highest gets to hear first, there is no priority of this sort, Once the review is completed by Panel (that is today's meeting) they update the SMS system and then the employers and or the person assisting you with application can log in to SMS system to view the status.

Good Luck All (It's unfortunate that things such as our rights comes down to luck)

Hope to update you soon.
