I predict 40 points next month. Very sorry for those of us who got them refused again. It's an experience I don't wish upon anyone. x

Hey stephybailey24 !

I think some of us are a bit confused. Could you clarify - were you refused OR successful with 40 points?

Thanks

I got mine as well. The immigration agency that had been working with my employer just informed the HR.

Btw, stephybailey24, are you certain that it is 40 points. Perhaps there are housing allowances which made ur application 45 points?

Cuz the news said the cut-off is 45. Please do share some more for others.

Hey GettingTier2, I remembered yours is also 40?
If so, why would some other 40s get rejection? Weird

I'm a little confused by this thread. Is this people waiting to receive a COS from their employer, or is this people who have a COS, have applied for their visa and are waiting for their visa to be approved?

Thanks

I am a teacher of English Language. I will be working in a high school in Ash. I am not sure if I can mention the school's name.

At 40 points, I was refused last month. This month, my employer resubmitted my application and i got an email saying that "I am pleased to inform you that your CoS was granted. I will email you tomorrow with the certificate".

I had 40 points, PwC Legal... I wish they would have applied a little earlier. This is disheartening.

I don't even know what my options are now. Could they redirect me to a recruiter here in the US? I'd made so many friends in the UK who are wondering when I'll be back.

Neither, these are people who are waiting to know whether or not their restricted COS has been allocated by the home office. The process is basically as follows:
1 - get a job
2 - employer applies for a restricted COS from home office
3 - if the COS is granted by home office, a COS is generated by the employer
4 - applicant applies for a visa.

So persons here are at point 2: their employer have applied for the COS from home office and persons here are stating whether or not they have been approved (granted the COS). There is a points system. Persons are approved based on points, so everyone is stating their points to give an idea of which range of points where granted for this month.

Thanks so much for this very clear response! I guess we are on stage 4. Best of luck to everyone here!

Hi Ttttier2,

I actually had 45 points.

It makes no sense to me that ppl with 40 points are being approved while others got refusals.

Although the news says 45 points is the cut-off point, but we still need to wait for either BBC or the Home Office to announce it to be sure.

If the news is true, the possible explanations are:
A. stephybailey24 has got housing allowances or salary increase, making him 45 points, while the employer has not given notice about it. (maybe teacher is on shortage list? or got a PhD degree?)

B. The application pool has gone so large that the MAC had to review applications case by case. As far as I know, the policy says they only judge by points. (see policy clause 29.23 and below. it tells you how they allocate the COS) so I cannot be sure if they actually do such things.

C.the cut-off points is actually not 45. perhaps media is just making assumptions, you cannot be sure unless it's on BBC or GOV websites.

these are just my speculations...right or wrong, I don't know.. I just hope I could offer a bit help..

I mean, I literally read all related Tier 2 policy guides. They are like 600 pages+ so I cannot remember the exact sentences.

Yes. Just a quick email saying my restricted COS has been rejected and my caseworker will get in touch with me soon. But it's already 6pm Greenwich time... so I don't know if that'll happen. I had either 39 points or 40 points, depending on whether they include all the other things on top of base pay.

I wish PwC could give me a higher salary but I could pay them back under the table  .
I don't wish this upon anyone. To go through multiple interview and testing processes and receive an offer, only to be rejected by the country in which it operates, is unfortunate.

Thanks mate.

I know the feelings as it happened to me in June as well. I started to panic as I saw the news in June.

All the interviews, tests, background checks, paper work and so many others that we have been through.

It's ultra tough for ppl like us to get job offers in the UK and many employers are reluctant to sponsor. I have been studying in the UK for 6/7 years, and I still need to deal with this "limited non-EEA" Tier 2.

check the comments for the June news below http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-33101336

They all think that the current policy is not making sense...
