All April applicants, don't forget this forum is merely 1% of total applications posted to ho every month. So expect August to be the month of returns.

Guys,
In as much as we may all feel different levels of frustration regarding our application, making speculation is not helping anyone. A good guide will be to keep checking the March thread to see how that is moving along. As someone said, some late March applicants just received approvals. Sit tight and wait is all we can do.

Cheers.

Application Timeline
Eligibility criteria: 5 years (ancestry) + 1 year ILR
Method of application: NCS Haringey
Date of Application: 9th April 2015 (but luckily NCS lady realised I wasn't in the country 5 years ago on that date as was on holiday in Australia, so application was actually sent off on 27th April 2015)
Date of receipt by UKBA: 28th April 2015
Date of debit of fees: 4th June 2015
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 3rd June 2015 (received the week of the 15th June, was away on holiday so not sure of exact date)
Date of Biometrics letter: 17th June 2015 (received the week of the 15th June, was away on holiday so not sure of exact date)
Date of Biometrics: 22nd June 2015 (done at Post Office)
Date of receipt of approval: Still waiting
Date of Ceremony: Still waiting

Hi All,

I have submitted my application last Friday.
I have submitted my passport as a proof of identity, but I had used my BRP card which was issued in 2013, before getting my ILR, for Life in UK test.
I have not written any cover letter for the same.
Is this fine?

It's pretty obvious that most people obtained ILR brps only after they had passed LIUK test, and therefore had to return their old brps to the UKVI. So I don't see why you have to explain this any further.

Has anyone received an approval from the April lot?

Noticing folks on March thread reporting their approvals who applied later that month, getting anxious :)

Applied on 01/04/15 (2 applicants)

And the wait goes on : :(

My theory for why the process has massively slowed down for us terribly lucky April applicants (and those who follow us).

1.) After the massive scandal over citizenship last year, the Home Office scrambled to tighten up their procedures. Details of this were posted on this thread http://www.immigrationboards.com/britis ... 78271.html

Particularly the following bit:
applicants' original paper files from previous applications will now be recalled to be reviewed manually during citizenship consideration, in recognition that CID -- the caseworking database -- contains incomplete and often inaccurate information about contents of those files. This can spell major delays IMHO
2.) Massive March backlog. FOIA requests have revealed that there were a massive amount of applications in March.

3.) Reassigning staff to passports. This happened last year because of the scandal over long waiting times for passports which always peak at this time of year. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened this year too. As this affects "real" British people as opposed to us horrible scrounging foreigners, passports will get priority (until of course my OH gets naturalisation and has to apply for one - then it will take 11 months).

4.) Biometrics. I don't think this is a major factor (especially for those who applied in the first week of April who didn't do it). But it all adds up.

5.) And last but not least...My OH applied this month. The Home Office have a vendetta against us (our one-day "premium service" ILR application ended up taking 7 months for no good reason) so they obviously had to take ages over the April applications to get at us.

Hi, if we use BRP as ID proof for Life in UK test, UKBA knows that they would issue a new BRP card after ILR and they would have taken back your Tier1/Tier2 BRP card. And without ILR you cant apply for Citizenship  . So, relax, should be fine. And yes, please post your queries in July 2015 Naturalization application Timeline ONLY.

Bear in mind the approval for the April applicant is before the biometrics was introduced. Take that with a pinch of salt as majority of April applicants are under the new BRP rule. Until someone with the BRP applicant has received approval just sit tight and chill.

Why are you so pessimistic? It would have always started with April 1st applicant. No major changes but just a finger print they added from 6th april... Chill

Totally agreed. IMHO, biometrics should rather speed up the process as it confirms the identity of the applicant, most likely all of April applicants would have submitted their Biometrics by now, so there shouldn't be any extra delay for us compare to pre-biometrics April applicants.

Absolutely! Just bcoz BRP is introduced it does not make a difference in the scrutiny n checks all the applications are going through.

So happy to see the 1st approval for April.

Letz look forward for more.

Congratulations bobby_das..Cheers !
