ILR and arrival stamp missing

Post by mahin1110 » Wed Oct 24, 2007 10:25 pm

Hi!

I am an hsmp -holder plannning to apply for ILR next month. During last 5 years I have been to holiday for 3 times. Last week I came to realise that there were only 2 UK arrival stamps on my passport one in Manchester Airport was missing (possibly immigration officer's mistake). All together I was outside UK for less than 14 weeks ove rthe last 5 years. I have all the stamps in passport from departing countries.

Do you think it will be a problem? Pls share expertise and experiences.

Regards

Best is to obtain your file of papers from the HO, Subject Access Bureau for £10.00 and check the landing card sections. You must have filled in Landing Cards when you entered the UK on your way back from holidays so HO should have a copy on file. That you have departure stamps from those countries in your ppt doesn't mean that you entered the UK...

Stop being so paranoid and certainly do not waste your time and money getting your entire file from the Home Office!

Home Office caseworkers deal with missing stamps all the time and you certainly are not the only person with missing stamps in your passport. The benefit of the doubt will be given to you if there is any query as to how long you have been out of the UK based on the stamps in your passport.
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.

Can the OP still do a personal application at the PEO with the missing stamps?

Of course. Let me make this clear, there is no issue with missing stamps! None at all.

There might be if the days absence are borderline, and it may help if you have your bording pass for the missing trip.

But I agree that it is nothing to lose sleep over.

Thanks so much for advice. I can ask for my Bank statements which showed that I received contineous payments from my employer (including holiday pay). Will that proves that I did not stay longer abroad?

Thanks

I agree with everyone that do not worry. You can take the proof you have but it would not be an issue.

The SAB file unfortunately I received when I applied for mine contains only the Landing Cards for my initial entry into the UK and none of all the ones I have filled in from my several trips abroad when entering the UK (bear in mind I specifically requested for those).

Please chill out and you would be fine. Just list your absences as requesed by the FLR(IED) form and rest!
Praise The Lord!!!!
