@biliserdar
If you do have trouble, it will probably be once you are trying to re-enter the UK..leaving Spain on a valid passport shouldn´t be an issue.

if you have a non european passport that required a visa to enter the uk, without the visa the airline will not board you on the plane, even if you bring coa letter and marriage certificate.

Hello everyone,

I just made my application yesterday (20th July).
After reading a few latest posts, I am very worried about the processing time... I have a job offer which starts in mid-October...
I really hope everything goes fine.

I will update my posts if I hear from them.

I suggest you start asking them if you will be able to start your job with the COA as long as it enables you to work!

yes, the airline will not take responsibility of flying you back so they need to guarantee your entry clearance to the uk before your board on the plane, a coa and marriage certificate won't do and is not enough for them (regardless whether it works at the uk border or not). they need to see a valid visa on your passport if the uk doesn't grant u a tourist visa on arrival with ur non eu passport

Hi Everyone,

My EEA2 application is under appeal and I am waiting for the hearing dates from the courts. I am wondering to know if I am entitled to work. My application was refused twice before. if any one knows anything regarding this, please be kind enough to share the knowledge with me.

Many thanks.

Could you be more specific about the home visit you had : what time was it ? How long did it last for ? And what questions did they ask ?
As im afraid neither me or my wife are at home during normal working hours ... :/
Thanks,
They came 7:45am and they spend 5mins max
Ask my wife where I was

That is all what they ask if u need any information let me know :)
If they come to visit and you are not at home they will come one more time. Unless they know you are not living there.

Hey folks,

I'm new here today, was reading up on all this stuff as my husband is now in the process and we were worried about timescales etc, seems like there's great advice on here and shared experiences that can help people.

I am British born, British passport holding UK citizen, lived here all my life, no criminal record, work here etc etc. Basically I'm good to go haha.
My husband is from New Jersey, US and came to Scotland 6 years ago to study as a veterinary surgeon. We met 3 and a half years ago, we got engaged a year and a half ago and got married on June 27th this year (same sex marriage). He graduated Uni a week later. He hasn't worked since he got here and he had been given false info on what he would need in order to start working so we're a bit late to the party I'm afraid.
As his study visa runs until October, he is allowed to work full time until that ends, we had to wait to get married for him to apply for the EEA FM form as spouse. This was sent last week, he starts a job on Monday as a veterinary surgeon and of course he is now freaking out. He is allowed to work without a NI number for 3 months (12 weeks) i believe? And his work seem to be ok about this. We can't apply for the NI number without either a COA or official documents, so we will be requesting these asap once we get the COA.

I'm guessing it won't be a crazy difficult application for them as I am born here and always lived here, he was already granted a 6 year uni visa, had his bio-metrics done in sept last year, we are legally married, he is graduated, have no children, no criminal records and we provided all the legal documents (passport, marriage cert, biometrics, his student resident card etc etc). We can also evidence our marriage, friendships, we just got a new place together etc and I am a working professional so can support etc.

The only thing that worries me really is some of the horrid timescales I've seen on here! But i guess our situation is less complicated than others, so hopefully we'll be fine and it won't be a mess *fingers crossed*.

Good luck to all of you still awaiting decisions, it seems like it's been so awful for some of you.

Robert

You can't apply if you haven't exercised treaty rights in another EU country.

Any news Pursuitofhappiness?
I'm 5 months post application and haven't heard back from HO.
The delay has overpassed the average 4.5 months lately.
I guess late feb applicants / early march are unlucky and the holiday season is surely not helping!

Not sure if you read bilisredar post from yesterday, the HO told him over the phone yesterday that the new form plus shortage of staff are making the wait to be around 7/8 months.

Let´s just hope they were giving a longer timeframe to reduce the number of people calling and asking...

I thought it was applicable for mid March onward applicants.
I was referring to end of Feb / early March applications.
But I think we're in the same boat :(
What a tiring wait!

I guess the lack of news accross the board means it is mostly a new form issue.

EEA FM sent 4/7/15
Received by Home Office 7/7/15
Biometrics letter arrived 15/7/15 dated 10/7/15
Biometrics enrolled 18/7/15
COA waiting..

This is my 2nd attempt to apply for EEA Residence Card becuase the first time I sent one on 29/4/15, the Charging department didn't indicate my payment in the system so the caseworker cancelled my application by mistake. I sent a complaint letter which got them to investigate what went wrong and email me an apology, so now I'm starting all over again.

Some info from my application

EEA FM sent 10/6/15
Received by Home Office 11/6/15
Payment charge on account 15/6/15
Biometrics letter arrived 19/6/15 dated 17/7/15
Biometrics enrolled 22/6/15
Requested Passports 13/6/15
Got passports 20/6/15
COA waiting..

Still waiting for the COA, we will need both to travel at the end of the month, hope it gets here before that date.

Also, does anyone knows if changing the correspondence address temporarily affects anything? Can I also do it online as the request of the passport? How long till it gets updated? Thanks!

Sorry to hear that, this is just taking too long....
Where did you send the letter to? Liverpool? Did you address to the same person who wrote the biometrics letter?
