ILR- Child Registration for Tax credit /child benefit

Post by segex » Fri Jul 31, 2015 12:23 pm

Hi Guys,

A friend just got an ILR via LR. Spouse still under T1g dep. Their child born in uk prior to the ILR, is yet to be registered as citizen and they are looking to claim 'the subject matter' immediately, as they think its not that compulsory to register the child now- since they've got the child's birth-cert. Is that possible? Thanks.

Your friend can claim child benefit in HIS name ONLY if he has ILR.

Child tax credits MUST be claimed in JOINT names with his spouse.

No effect on spouse immigration status if claimed as above.

Thanks

Yes, it is not children who claim, it is the parent who is eligible. Does the child have a dependent visa, just for interest?

No passport or visa, just the uk birth-cert given prior to fathers ILR/LR

Thanks

Can you decide which username you wish to continue using please? It is confusing when members post from two different usernames and is not permitted on the forum Multiple Member IDs (Click)
