Hey

We have applied for my Wifes renunciation of British citizenship on 23 July.
How many days after do they take out the money from the account?

Thanks

Depends.
Mine took about 2 weeks before I had heard that they had 'not been able to use my card'. they said that there was a problem with the card. they sent a letter about it! then they called me and i paid over the phone.

now you have applied, i wouldn't worry about it: there's nothing you can do to speed up the process.

Thanks Chaoclive

Where could i find the below Regulations on government website?

"A person who held dual British/EEA citizenship, and who has renounced
their British citizenship, will be considered an EEA national for the
purposed of the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006 (as
amended). A person who has brought themselves within the definition of EEA
national under regulation 2 by renouncing their British citizenship will
be in the same position as an EEA national who has never held British
citizenship."

Thanks

Never seen it on a gov website. I got this from a freedom of information post that I posted on http://whatdotheyknow.com. https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/ ... ing-572263

You could try to contact the European Policy Team on EuropeanOperational@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. I can't guarantee that this email address is still working now though.

Actually i was think to print out that regulation from the web and highlight it and submit with my visa application.
But is it necessary or should i just add the below lines in covering letter.

"A person who held dual British/EEA citizenship, and who has renounced
their British citizenship, will be considered an EEA national for the
purposed of the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006 (as
amended). A person who has brought themselves within the definition of EEA

citizenship.

I just want them to know that my wife is ‘Relevant EEA national’ after renouncing the British citizenship.

Thanks

I have provided you with the link above. This is the only location where you will be able to find this. It is not from any regulation. Why can't you print it from the whatdotheyknow website? It was a formal response from the Home Office.

I didn't provide it in my partner's EEA family permit nor residence card application. Everything was fine.

There is no point in adding the lines to the cover letter as they won't know where it has came from.

Hey

I was filling out the EEA FM form was stuck on the below questions.

1) How long have you lived in the UK?

2) Please provide details of any periods of absence of more than 6 months during that time?

Do they want my overall stay including my previous visit in UK(Which was in 2007 till 2009 and then in 2010) or just my last entry which i came on March 2015 till now

Thanks

Hey Chaoclive and El Patron,

We got the acknowledgement letter from Home office for renouncing the British citizenship that they have received the money and will process our application. We will submit this letter with my application.

Will this proof to Home office that my wife is excising the treaty right?

Please advice.
Thanks
