Only for Class-C short stay visit visashas been granted a visa to travel to the Republic of Ireland by the Republic of
Ireland authorities for the purpose of a stay of a period of 90 days or fewer,
Notes:
- For those arriving in the United Kingdom (UK), including
Northern Ireland, and subsequently traveling to Ireland
(Rep.), a UK visa, with the endorsement 'BIVS' will be
required. For those arriving first in Ireland (Rep.) and
traveling to the UK, including Northern Ireland, and
returning to Ireland (Rep.), an Irish visa, with the
endorsement 'BIVS' and current permission to remain in
Ireland as shown by the relevant stamp in their passport,
will be required. For those arriving in the UK, including
Northern Ireland, traveling to Ireland (Rep.) and then
returning to the UK, including Northern Ireland, the
appropriate UK visa will be required to allow a second entry
into the UK, including Northern Ireland.
Holders of a visa issued by the UK, with the endorsement
'BIVS', must have entered and been granted a stay in the UK
for up to 180 days. Travel to a third country, before
traveling to Ireland (Rep.), is permitted if the UK visa,
with the endorsement 'BIVS', is still valid. Furthermore,
re-entry into Ireland (Rep.) from a third country is
permitted if the UK visa, with the endorsement 'BIVS', and
period of the stay granted in the UK are still valid.
Holders of long term visas, with the endorsement 'BIVS',
must visit Ireland (Rep.) within a current period of stay
granted in the UK.
It would make sense as anyway with the common travel area there is not border control between the 2 countries.Obie wrote:Hopefully the same will be done for Irish Residence aswell.
