Visa expiring, help anyone?

Post by holamanola » Sun Aug 02, 2015 9:50 pm

Hi guys,
We applied with EU1 application a week ago, so waiting for an initial letter of confirmation now.
Problem is my Join Souse Visa (my husband is an EU citizen working here in Ireland) expires on the 10th of August.
My passport was sent in with all the supporting documents. Should i notify GARDA somehow that my visa stamp is expiring soon and we just applied for a residence card? In general, might I have any problems later?

This is perfectly ok. There is no need to worry. With backlogs in the EU Treaty Rights Section, there are alot of people in your situation. It seems that there is a current delay of about 7/8 weeks for the applications to be initially processed which is the worst it's been for a long time.
