eligibility for citizenship

Post by Mihai93 » Mon Aug 03, 2015 5:51 pm

I'm a 21-year-old Romanian citizen and I plan to study and eventually settle in the UK. I would also like to acquire British citizenship after I graduate, but I have a problem regarding the residence period: I read on the internet that if one stays more than 450 days outside the UK during the five/six-year period, they're disqualified from obtaining citizenship and, in my case, the subject I want to major in requires students to spend about 2 years outside the UK. So my question is if I take this course, will I become ineligible for citizenship? Or do these 2 years are counted as if I had lived in the UK because I'm a student in a British university?
