Gents - they posted their application on april 7, so would have been received at HO in next couple of days. That's all i know.

I am surprised at all this unnecessary speculation going over this forum in relation to brp/post april 6 applications. Nothing has changed and don't loose your sleep over that.

It seems that there is a big flood of first two weeks of March approvals coming through. So it's possible they've moved from doing late March/early April to doing early March (God knows why they were skipped over in the first place) instead of doing post 6 April apps so I wouldn't be surprised if it takes another week or more before they (finally!) begin to do post 6 April applications.

No! And you really don't need to be asking these sorts of questions every day.

What I meant is that there seems to be a decision to get rid of most/all of the straightforward pre-biometric applications before starting on us post-biometric people. We will almost definitely not be waiting another six months (though knowing my personal luck with the HO, I wouldn't rule it out in my case!). In fact, I think the rush of March applicants means that it's likely they will move onto post-biometric in the next couple of weeks (unless there is some kind of problem).

But all of this is speculation. None of us know anything for sure

Yes finally early March approvals are coming now. What i think those applications which are submitted at start of month get dumped down as rest of applications piled up above them

They have at least 40-50,000 backlog of post-biometric applications, plus probably another 20-30,000 of pre-biometric cases not decided yet, plus about 10,000-15,000 new applications submitted every month. At their current decision rate, unless they speed it up, they will be failing their standards by the huge amont of time.

I hope you're wrong about the 20-30,000 pre-biometric cases still to process! I reckon they've been concentrating on those ones and are nearly finished (maybe not including the so-called "complex" cases).

The new stats will come out at the end of August, where we will see how many they've still got to process from pre-biometric era, but because they don't automatically publish these figures unless asked to under FOIA, we might not actually see them until September.

I agree, at current rates of progress, we won't be seeing end of April or May decisions until the end of the year! But I'm hoping things will suddenly pick up after summer holidays etc.

There were about 26000 cases pending by 31st March 2015 as we found out from the freedom of information from the home office. The average monthly application till February were about 7500 but in March alone there were 11700 applicants. I think in these three months from 31 March they should be done with atleast 20 thousand.
No figur from March onwards is available so far so my guess is as good as anybody.There are about 90 case workers involved in nationality cases. I was April 2 nd applicant and got my approval on 24 th July. Now waiting again for my passport interview letter and for the approval of my family nationality. They applied in the first week of July. You said Passport interview letter! Do they now interview for passports?

Yes defiantly for the first adult British passport. They call it identity interview and it is to make sure that passport is issued to the right person.
