Hi Gurus,
Please advice - I have been offered a job at £24k (Tier 2 general out of country). This will be my first UK work visa.
I have 3 dependents (wife and 2 kids). I understand that this salary is low to support my family in the UK. I am just wondering if I can apply visa for my dependents at same time I apply.
1. If I apply for dependents, will their visa be rejected because of lower salary -£24k?
2. Is there any minimum salary requirements to bring family to the UK on Tier 2 general?
Please advice. Thanks in advance.

You are being offered the job at the appropriate rate of pay (it should not have been under 23400 for someone with professional experience, which it is not) so there is nothing to worry.
1. No.
2. No.

Hi Experts/ Gurus,
My emplyer is going to assign me RCoS and certified maintenance in CoS. So I do not need to show maintenance for myself. However, to apply dependent visa, I understand that either employer must provide a letter that they support dependents for first month or I need to show the funds available for at least 90 days. Unfortuately, I did not maintain the required amount in my bank account.
My employer says - They already certified maintenance on CoS and it will also cover for both main and depenent visa applicants and there is no seperate letter required.
But I am not sure if I can apply without maintenance letter and bank balance. I am worried dependent visa may get rejected because of this??
Please advice.
M Shekhar.

If you and your dependent are applying together, then no separate letter is required.

Hi Members,
I would really appreciate if you please advise on my query -
I am going to apply Tier 2 general (main) and Tier 2 general (dependents) at the same time. However, my dependents won't be travelling with me and they will join after 3 months after my arrival in the UK.
I have a few questions in this regard.
1. Can I apply at same time even my dependents are not travelling with me?
2. What travelling dates I must mention for dependents?
3. In visa form, there is a question - Are you travelling with someone? So what should I say? Yes or No
Look forward to your thoughts. Thanks in advance
Shakar

Please keep your queries regarding your application with dependants under "one" topic.
Do not create a new topic for every question that you may have regarding your application.

1. No. See
If you are applying from outside UK
2. Irrelevant, because of above.

I have an urgent query regarding dependent Tier 2 visa online application form -
I am applying Tier 2 dependent visa for my wife and 2 children at same time as mine. My employer has certified maintenance on CoS but did not provide any separate maintenance letter for my dependents
1. In my wife's online application, for the following question - which one option should I select? (No separate maintenance letter)
Which area of the maintenance requirement are you applying under? - "This is a question from visa form"
a. Own/ Main application funds
b. Parent or legal guardian funds
c. Tier 2 skilled worker with A rated sponsor
2. In my children's online application, for the same question - which one option should I select? (No separate maintenance letter)
a. Own/ Main application funds
b. Parent or legal guardian funds
c. Tier 2 skilled worker with A rated sponsor
Kindly help - it's urgent as I need to sumbit my application this week. Huge thanks in advance.

Dear Sir/ madam,
Can I apply Tier 2 dependent visa 5 months before the start date they travel? As my UKVI guidance, main applicant should apply not more than 3 months before s/she travels.. is that applicable to dependents as well.
Kindly advise. Thanks in advance

I believe the "yes" was in response to "is that applicable for dependants as well".

Thanks a lot, sushdmehta. I had initially understood incorrectly and now realized that I must apply before 3 months of their travel date. I appreciate your help.

Hi sir/ madam,
I have another query - I have been married for more than 12 years now (14th Dec 2003). I was 19 and my wife was 18 at the the time of wedding in India. I have got my marriage certificate apostilled by govt. India.
I am appying dependent visa (Tier 2 G) for my wife and children next month. But I am worrying if there could be any problem in getting their visa. Is there any legal age for partner to join as dependent. If yes, will UKVI consider age by the time we apply visa or age when we were actually married?
Look forward to hearing from you.

As long as its a legitimate marriage and you have the marriage certificate, its fine. No need to worry.
