Hi,
I think it is better for you to apply to naric (if you are in the UK and even from outside). It is subjective, some people form pakistan have said that for masters they get 25 others get different. it would be easier for yopu to invest int he naric apraisal and you will know for sur ehow much you have, that way you can plan better and you will know what to expect.

This is simply confusing to me. Is this situation typical to India alone, or has something similar happened to other people from different countries? I find it stunning that a PHD should be relegated to mere masters status. how long does it take to get a PHD in Pakistan if I may ask?

but it seems ridicolous that our Master degree has value to just their beacholar level. this is british system as they introduced almost 200 years before by loard Macalay in the era of colonism.
is this means our doctor's qualification is equal to their nurses.
