Dependant child

Post by diponkar73 » Fri Aug 07, 2015 2:06 pm

Hi
can anyone please reply my query.

I applied for naturalization. My wife is my ILR dependent but now she is eligible to apply for ILR under 10 years rule. my daughter is a british citizen and my son who was not born in Uk ,he is still ILR dependent. For my son naturalization does he still need to apply for ILR before he can be naturalized? If he needs to apply for ILR probably he will USe set(F) form. In this form there is some public fund issue arises. Since I am his sponsor as per Set(F) form is their any impact if he applied for ILR? As a sponsor I get some benefits which
is related public fund.

I would be grateful if anybody resolve my issue.

Kind Regards
Diponkar nath

As per other cases in this forum, it is very advisable that children have settled status (eg ILR) before applying to register as a citizen.

1. Born-abroad child requires settled status before applying for British citizenship.
2. If you are claiming benefits that you are entitled to then no problem. Declare them on the form - no affect on application.
