My visa expires in 15 oct
i want to switch now to another job category with the same company
If i apply now what should be the start and finish date of my new cos ?
Should i apply for tier 2 for above 3 years

you need ot get a COS upto 3 years.

if you are going to entend visa

**extension applies if you apply within same employer with same job code as per your previous leave

** if employer is same and job is going to change. your company need to conduct RLMT before issuing RLMT . please follow the Tier 2 guidance rules for RLMT

actually i am going to change to another SOC code with the new job on the shortage list so no need for rlmt
my old COS was issued on 27/09/12 and my biometric card was issued
On 29/11/12 with validity till 15/10/15
The question is if i apply to switch job now for how long will be my new visa in both cases:
If i apply for 3 yrs
if i apply for over 3 yrs if allowed

Assuming that the dates you gave above are for your initial leave under T2, your stay is limited to 6 years, so there is not much point applying for longer than 3 years even if you could stay a few days or may be weeks longer than 3 years because the fee would be significantly more. Also, you shouldn't apply for a period longer than the work end date in your new CoS. Note that you will be able to apply for ILR after 5 years in the UK if you meet the various requirements

if i apply for 6 years will my leave end in 29-11-18 so its calculated from the date my tier 2 was issued not COS
i am thinking of doing this as it will give me additional 2 to 3 months to sort out something (ex find a new job with higher salary) in case i wont meet ilr requirement after 5 years. I am scared of the new tier 2 regulation coming soon

can they put the starting date for ex 30 sept if my premium service appointment is booked for 24 aug
