Set (O) Tier 2 - Made an error on the start date.

I recently submiited my Set (O) Tier 2 application. Based on 5 years rule. My intial Tier 2 visa started on the 10/08/2010. While calculating the dates and filling in my application for some reason I had in my head the start date as 20/08/2010. Based on this date my application would be 29 days before I can apply. I submitted my application on 22/07/15 by royal mail next day. HO received it on 22/07/2015. This was also the date my current tier 2 visa expired. So I have made an in time application. I enrolled for biometrics on 31/07/2015. I received my passports back on 12/08/2015. Original documents has been returned by the pre paid Next day envelope on 12/08/15 that I included.

It's obiviously my mistake, I should have double checked the date. Is this going to be a refusal. I am stressed out that due to my silly mistake my application would be rejected.

I am really suprised as well I have received my documents back within 3 weeks.

Wouldn't the casework cross check the dates I have mentioned to make sure I am correct. Technically I have ruined my chance by putting the wrong date and not the other way around.

Would you guys help me to ease my mind

10/08/2015 minus 29 days comes to roughly 11/07/2015 but you applied on 22/7/2015 which seems to me as fine, so why are you worrying?

The date I used on the application was 20/08/2010, I.e section 6 of the application form Immigration history asks the first date of stay the application is based on. I have entered 20/08/2010 instead of 10/08/2010.

Looking at guidance used by the caseworker, immigration history should be checked by the caseworker on their internal system once they are satisfied the application is valid.

My date of application is 22/07/2015 based on when received, counting back 5 years would be 23/07/2010. Difference between 23/07/2010 and 20/08/2010 is 29 days(1 day over the 28 day earlier mark). But if they check on their system the start date would be 10/08/2010 (23/07/2010 minus 10/08/2010 would be less than 28 days) which is fine. As you.mentioned. I am bit worried if they would refuse it coz I made a mistake on the application and they don't check the system for the correct date.

I have looked up the rules. The mistake I made wouldn't be a deception to tell HO to gain a visa. Technically it's not beneficial to me , I m harming myself by putting the wrong date. If they do refuse I believe I got grounds to appeal, submitted application in time and I was actually eligible. Fingers crossed.

My documents has been returned along with approval letter. Just waiting for BRP for the confirmation. It looks all good.
