Tier 2 General - Visa issue process

Post by Ladybyron » Mon Jul 13, 2015 6:52 pm

Once the CoS is issued we can apply for a visa.

Can someone clarify how the process works, from what I gathered it is something like this:

1 - Fill up Visa form
2 - Pay the NHS Surcharge
3 - Pay the Visa fee
4 - Visa interview (?)

How long did the process take? What kind of documents were asked?

Hi,

Also looking for info on the visa application process.

Anyone applying from South Africa? The following website gives an indication of the time it takes to process the visa

Hi people,

I initiated the visa process a while ago, and I am worried. I have a business trip on September 6th to the United States, because of that I paid 120 pounds to be processed in up to 10 business days. With a promise that if it wasnt processed, I would be contacted.

I also paid for SMS and courier. I went to the consulate after 5 days because I didn't receive any tracking at all. They said I would receive the email once it arrived in the DMC.

It is important to know that for Brazil, all visa is processed in Bogota, Colombia, unless you use priority service, then it is in Rio. After 10 days I received an email and it is in Bogota! Not Rio de Janeiro, which is pretty bad because I am in a hurry.

I called, send emails, they all said it is like that sometimes and they have no way to check if indeed my application is as priority service for them.

Now 3 days ago I received an update saying that my application was assigned to an officer, and I still have no contact, I send email they don't respond, and the phone line isnt helpful at all. Any tips?

So I was told last friday that my application had been decided on the previous monday. And I should be receiving my passport this monday (today). The thing is, I paid for courier service, and UKVI helpline says one thing, the email says another like: "you have to wait". Have someone ever heard of something like this? Idk, I feel so lost without information.
