Uk citizen ukrainian wife Irish visa HEEELP!!

Post by Pellegrinelli » Wed Aug 19, 2015 11:01 am

Need help. Preferably someone who has been in my situation before.

Ukrainian lawyers this morning said that my Ukrainian wife and I can't get a type C accompany spouse visa because I don't have a work contract in Ireland, and therefore the visa will be refused. But Irish website said she can accompany me if I want to excersise free movement rights and move to Ireland.
That suggests that I wouldn't have job and apartment...what should we do?
Now we are thinking that I should go to Ireland first and get job then apply for join spouse visa instead...

Any help?

If you enter a other EU country as a EU citizen you don't have to prove anything in the first 90 days.
Your wife can simply accompany you.

How do you expect a Ukrainian lawyer to know about EU law.
Smooth seas do not make skilful sailors
