how many months before we can apply dependant visa?

Hello MAnci, and all experts

this is a urgent query , my wife is currently in pakistan, we want to put intention travel date as 25th november so can we apply on 25th Aug 2015 ?? as i beleive we can apply three months prior to our intention travel date??

mind u, she will now get a entry sticker of 1 month. She will have to travel within that one month.

hello experts,
i submitted my wife dependant visa yesterday . she is in pakistan at the moment we applied online yesterday. we selected general partner up to 5 years as i got tier 2 general for 5 years last year. so my visa is expiring in may 2019. i beleive the actual amount for the IHS sould be 800 as my visa is only left for 4 years. but they took 1067pounds? pakistani rupees 170000? anyone know will we will be getting a partial refund ?

hi, did you pay in GBP? or you just converted PKR 170,000 into GBP?

2ndly did you do any calculation on Home Office website before making any payment?

run a check and then see what comes up. £1,067 looks a very strange amount an it does not tie up.

No the online application just took me to health surcharge page directly and its shows 170000PAK rupees.i paid it from my lloyds card and the money converted into 1067pounds? AND THEN the application cost was 191000 somthing.. any one in same situation. will ill be getting the partial amount back once the application is decided.

the surcharge checker shows 800pounds? i dont know why they took 1067 from my account. may be because i put the start date of my visa may 2014 and end date may 2019. But still my dependant will get visa for 4 years so it should be 800? any experts can give me some info????

As I am in the same situation and I have run a dummy file online. I am doing it for 3 years and it is showing PKR102,000 for IHS.

If you divide this by £600 the exchange rate comes to PKR 170. I think they have fixed the exchange rate prevailing at the time this charge was first implemented.

further guidance from the home office website suggests that there must be a partial refund on the basis of not granting the full duration of leave. this is my guess but you can check with the home office.

how much have you paid for the application fee?

can you please update in relation to the file you have uploaded or the application submitted, process and status of it.
As I will be applying for my wife's visa over this weekend.

the actual fees for application was 191000. we applied on 20th aug my wife submitted documents yesterday at VFS lahore.

does anyone know why they took copies of each and every documents???

yes they keep the copies for their records and return the originals.

how many sets of the photocopies have they taken (2)?

was she interviewed? as they have an option to conduct a creditability interview if they want.

thanks for the update, make sure you keep on checking the email account used for the application. they will send you a series of emails about your application.

My wife will be submitting application at VFS Islamabad.

Did you actually fill in the online form, submitted online, printed and sent it to your wife In Lahore?

or she has done it from there and used your details to pay the fee?

in case you have done everything, what option did you select in the very start of the on line application. (i.e. are you doing yourself or on behalf of some one)?

no i filled it here myself and choose apply for some one else, i send the docs before applying when you finish your application system will generate a pdf file automatically you can either send her email or she can log in in to visa4uk account and print out her self

That is very helpful. Would you mind to tell me that whose email account have you used your's or wife's?

I was of the view that I can say applying for myself (like she is filling it on deemed basis) and fill in the application for her from here and pay as well. The reason behind this is that the option for someone else is might be for representatives when the apply for their clients or so (like solicitors)?
