EEA (extented family member)- unmarried partner application

24.04 Application sent
29.04 Payment taken
13.05 Biometrics given
19.05 COA received (with right to work)
19.05 Requested passports back
03.06 Passports returned

waiting for RC

Hopefully only a few more weeks left to wait?

Hey Lo628,
I applied in April as well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll start getting them in a few weeks, but I'm not expecting much.
My timeline is as follows:
Application sent 19.04
COA dated 28.04.
Requested passports back 03.08.
Still waiting on passports and RC.

I'm really nervous about my passport. I need to go back to Australia for a cousins wedding in September and I know I should have requested them earlier but I just wanted the home office to have them for as long as possible. I thought asking for them more than a month in advance would be enough, but now I'm not so sure :(
How long has it been taking everyone else to get their passports back?

Hey Chalkycheese, I managed to get passports back 10 working days after asking for them, but maybe it's a little slower in August (since it seems everyone is on holiday?!) But I would definitely guess that a month in advance is plenty of time.
Fingers crossed for your passports back in time & for a quick RC![/quote]

Thanks :) Still not heard anything back from them unfortunately. I'm going to call them on Monday and hopefully get it sorted. Can't believe they are so slow.

The reason : We have not provided evidence that the EEA family member holds comprehensive sickness insureance in the United Kingdom. The policy provided was not the original and there was no evidence that the policy was paid. WHAT?? We bought this insurance in brazil, and they do not provide any hard copy of the policy. We sent them a copy of the email (all in english), stating that the policy was valid for 1 year, the cost of that, and the policy number with the phone and email of the company who sold the policy should they wish to contact. How come they, if in doubt, cannot make a call to confirm the validity of the policy? Thats really unbeliavable..

They gave us the right to appeal, but I am no familiar with this procedure and to be honest, and dont really know if I want to go through all this nightmare again...

Has anyone heard any case like that?

Thanks

Can you please tell me more about your situation please, because me and my husband didnt send a comprehensive sickness insureance. someone told me that only student need to send comprehensive sickness insureance, maybe iam wrong. wich application did you send

If the EEA national isn't here as a student or self sufficient person, the health insurance isn't a requirement.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to say again that we DID sent the comprehensive sickness insurance (which we paid 600 usd each!) . For some unknown reasons, the caseworker was not satisfied because we sent the email of the company, which has all the information you need, like policy number, price, issue date, name, contact number etc. The caseworker also said that there was no proof that the policy had been paid. How can you have a policy if you don't pay for it? We indeed didn't include the proof of payment, because it was obvious in my point of view that if you have the policy, it means you paid for it. The most absurd is that the phone number of the company was there, and a single call would have confirmed everything was right...

Not really sure what we are gonna do anyway. Look for an advisor an appeal for the sake of honour. I was also unclear if my wife will retain the right of work during the appeal. She doesn't even know how to tell her employer on Monday. So embarrassing...

Not even to mention that the letter mentioned she might be enforced to leave, which is cleary against the law, since the doubt of a sickness insurance does not represent a threat to security or public health, which would be the only way a family member of a EEA national could be removed.

Hi everyone, i'm new here but i have been following this forum for a while now and i find good informations here. Well, as per my case, i applied for a Residence Card as an Extended Family of a EU National (My Aunt) undergoing free movement rights in the UK. Application was submitted in early May, received a letter of acknowledgement and Biometric request in June, done that and received a in August letter asking for father's birth certificate, DNA test of my aunt and my mother, and some other questions. My main question is, can i still be granted the Residence Permit if i'm not able to meet up with the DNA test coz my mum is been sick for some years now and the doctor said she can't undergo the DNA Test.... Please help as i need answers as to what to expect from the caseworker/H.O :(

Thanks

DNA tests are usually done by swabbing the inside of the mouth but they can be done through a blood test or hair sample as well. I doubt the Home Office will believe there is a medical reason why it can't be done.

Yeah true as dirk said . DNA NEEDS a swab of mouth so I don't understand what medical condition can prevent it . I don't think they will believe you unless you get it done mate . They will definitely refuse the application unless you provide them as they doubt your relationship I am afraid . Good luck

Little help, I am worried...

I applied in March for an EEA2 as a spouse of a EU National. My COA is dates 27/03/2015.

My wife changed jobs on 29/06/2015 and we sent her job changes to the HO address in Durham.

I just read on the forum that the changes should have been sent to the Visas an immigration address in Liverpool. I am going to send the post today with all the updated information. Alongside that we changed our home address one week ago as we just moved. we did this online, so that should be updated.

I am worried because I read that one of the March applicants got denied because their spouse had changed jobs and they couldn't verify it.

Given the timeline of all March applicants I think I should be receiving my RC any time if it all goes through well.

Does anyone have any advice what I can do to ensure they've received the information? and does it make a big difference to which I address I sent the changes to initially?

try giving them a call and explain your situation and ask if they have endorsed it the the proper department and insist on the call centre agent at Sheffield that it is urgent. good luck

You can also inquire at your wife's previous and current employer/HR if the UKVI has contacted them and what their response was..

Thanks for the reply! We just mailed my wife's employer to ask them. Her current employer replied saying they havent contacted them, we are still waiting for her previous employer to reply.

Also, which number could we contact to explain the situation? We have sent the additional information again by post and it will reach the Liverpool office tomorrow. Thanks for your help!
