My RLMT is under process, if everything goes as planned I will enter the game with 45 points!

That info has yet to be released/updated in the gov.uk website - but if I had to guess, around either 11 September or 14 September.

My employer will file my COS in the month of September with 45 points , but i am bit afraid that points may reach 50 or above for September, because of less number of COS available this time around.

Hi psinghal,

Are your predictions for September based on some sort of analysis? because less number of certificates is not a reliable indicator for predicting cut off; very well explained in the month of August.

August had almost extra 650 certificates that were returned to the pool.

Hello Rabiya,

My prediction is not based on any mechanism, but yeah what i understood after heavily reading all those RCOS stuff on Internet is that there is complete bluff happening in Rcos allocation both from employers side and UK home office side.

Lets see what september bring this time around..

Hello All,

My RLMT is done, and my employer is collating the interview data and documents. I am entering the Sep panel with 45 points.
Fingers crossed!

I know this month has lower number of certificates available, but September is not peak time for application so I'm hoping for some luck at 39 points.

Hi I am still slightly confused about prorating salary. Could someone please clarify?

For example; say a job was advertised with a salary range of 25-27000, met the soc salary level requirements and the employee was contracted to work a 37.5 hour week. Is it acceptable to contract the worker at the max of 27,000 which is then pro-rated as follows 39/37.5=1.04 x 27,000=28080 thus 40 points for salary? Even though after it is pro rated the salary level is above the advertised maximum? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all,

New here and entering September with 45 points. Had originally sent everything through to my employer in July so I thought they'd submitted in August but no such luck. Good luck to everyone waiting and here's hoping for good news :)

No idea from me I'm afraid. I'm too new to know how this works yet. Based on what people are saying about September not being a premium month and given the surprise at August's number, I'd say in the region of 38 to 40 points, but that's a complete thumbsuck on my part

And also while submitting the application for RCOS in the field Summary of job description * it is only allowing us to type upto 1000 characters but my my job description is more than that, HR have to chop off some of the roles from the job spec is it ok to do like that?

Thanks

I have no idea about estimating the cut off points but Am hoping it will be back to normal, so other people with lower scores could have a chance. I have experienced with both the U.S. And UK immigration system and know how painful it is. It tosses our life up and down.

Hey Ln1124,

I was also in line for an H1B this year as I had two offers to consider, one in the UK and one in the US. This process is indeed painful. Hopefully it will be back to normal this time.

@raghu.raju457, I used this link to estimate my points

https://www.brookes.ac.uk/services/hr/h ... rship.html

Hope it helps.

hi all,
I am new to RCOS. I am totally ignorant and have no idea of how it works. So apologies for dumb questions
As per my understanding:
"August 2015
All valid applications received by 5 August were successful if they scored at least 36 points."

Does this means all the application with a minimum of 36 points will surely gets the visa?
If I get 36 points, then will I surely get my visa ? provided all other requirements are fulfilled.

Why the number of certificates of sponsorship available for allocation in September 2015 is 1,519?

I checked the Allocations of restricted certificates of sponsorship page at https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ponsorship, and found that the the number of certificates of sponsorship available for allocation in September 2015 is 1,519.

I understand that the month quota is 1650, and in August 71 more Restricted CoS are granted, so in September there should be 1650 - 71 = 1579 CoS available, why it is 1519?

1579 or 1519, is it typo?

@Santyroger:

This is how it works. There are two separate steps:
Step 1: Your employer conducts RLMT (if applicable) and applies to UKVI for a RCOS. Provided the RLMT was conducted as per defined process and your points are above the cut-off and UKVI does not need any additional information from your employer, UKVI will approve the RCOS. In the quote you mentioned, the "application" is for the RCOS as mentioned above.

Step 2: Once the RCOS is approved, your employer will assign it to you. Using this RCOS number, you will then need to apply for a Tier 2 General entry clearance visa from your home country. Provided all your paperwork is fine, you should get your visa.

RCOS and visa are two different things.
