Spouse visa - Queries and checklist

Post by HarryC » Fri Aug 07, 2015 2:56 pm

Hello
Can someone please advise me.
I am collecting all the evidence to apply for my spouse visa
With regards to accommodation proof, i only just bought a 1 bedroom flat. I will not have any utility bills etc as there wont be any generated. I have council tax bill statement, Water bill Direct debit confirmation letter etc and Electricity direct debit confirmation.

I have my mortgage confirmation letter and will have my land registry document. Got pictures of my house.

I am only one living in the flat and mortgage is in my name, do i still need letter to confirm there is no overcrowding? Seems bit daft if i have to because i am the only in this 1 bedroom flat (which also has a separate living room) and only going to apply for my spouse to join me

Also do i need to provide a set of copies of all the documents when the applicant submits the application? I am submitting the originals wherever i am able to but i hope they do return it all back to me? Any one knows?
thanking you in advance

Proof of ownership is fine.
An inspection is only necessary if there are a number of people in the household.

Originals are mandatory. Submit copies of everything so if they wish to keep something they can keep the copy.

Yes, but if you're concerned you can submit legally certified copies.

As far as I am aware, They return all originals. I made HO applications (both post and Premium center) quite a few times in the past, they returned the documents (but we have to verify if everything is ok).

My own experience - I once missed to collect my original Degree certificate from Croydon Premium center. I realised it only when i received it in the post from HO after 3 days!

Once copies have been provided originals SHOULD be returned. Unfortunately that was not the case for my husband when he applied but you are supposed to get them back.

Harry

I am not trying to sound pessimist here but I don’t think they'll return your original documents till they’ve actually made a decision. Perhaps you could email them and attach the confirmation to back up your covering letter.
Have you thought of legally attesting your mortgage papers?

Hello Aamar.
Thanks for the heads up but thats fine. if they want to keep originals till they have made a decision, thats fine by me until and unless they do return it once the decision is made.

Hello

I need assistance again please

Firstly, with regards to accomodation proof, due to the slow nature of Council, I dont think i will have land registry document however have my mortgage confirmation, council tax statement, pictures of my flat, and Direct debit set for gas and electric and also can see what else i can provide in terms of my proof that i own a property. Will that cause an issue if i dont have land registry document? They are very slow and dont think they will be able to process my application till the time i fly abroad to marry my fiancee.

Secondly, can anyone provide me a link of financial evidence requirement form which i need to hand complete?
Also i presume the VA4A form is now online and it will also take me straight to register health surcharge form for my spouse?

thank you

You have print this form, fill it manually and submit along with your printed online application form & other supporting documents when you apply.

Spouse visa - Final Checklist

Post by HarryC » Thu Aug 27, 2015 9:21 am

Hello all

After following this forum for so long, i have finally prepared all my documents to bring my spouse to UK.
I am on ILR since 2012 and previously was married to a british citizen and obtained my decree absolute on 13.08.2015
I am getting married on 02/09/2015 and intend to book an appointment for 07/09/2015.
I have submitted application on 23/08/2015 but it is still incomplete since I have yet to pay for health surcharge and visa fee as I am having trouble with the bank card but will be sorted out on 29/08
So here is my document checklist
VAF4A online application and will print a copy once I have gone through the payments
Financial Appendix – hand filled form Category A.
Applicant’s TB Certificate
Applicant’s IELTS Life skills Grade A pass certificate
Applicant’s passport
2 Photograph
Sponsor’s Certified copy of Indian passport all pages and BRP Card
Sponsor’s Original Decree of Absolute and Decree Nisi

Financial Requirement
Category A - Been with the same employer since 2011. I currently earn gross £23,995.50 since 01/04/2015. And prior to this, my gross salary was £23,000.00
Sponsor’s letter from Employment on company letter head stating my employment type, current position, my current salary, salary effective from, previous salary. Also stating the payslips and P60s are genuine
Sponsor’s HR stamped Contract effective from 01/04/2015 – stating salary £23995.50 and my start date with company
Sponsor’s HR Stamped Contract effective from 01/04/2014 till 31/03/2015 – stating salary £23,000.00
Sponsor’s HR stamped last 2 P60s – 2014 and 2015
Sponsor’s HR Stamped payslips from July 2014 till Aug 2015.
Sponsor’s Duplicate Bank statements for all the accounts issued by the bank on official stationary and showing the branch address at the bottom of the page – From 20th July 2014 till 20th Aug 2015. QUESTION Please see I am going to submit my August 2015 salary slip but I usually get paid on 27th whereas I requested bank statements on 20th? Do you think it’s a problem? I have shown last 12 months salary slips and ECO can match it up for all the previous months
Sponsor’s zero hour contract with Another job – Second job
Sponsor’s Second job employment letter stating the start date, position, contract type and rate of wages as it depends on position I work on the day
Sponsor’s Part time job’s P60 2015
Sponsor’s part time job wage slips Original
Sponsor’s Savings made from Company’s Save as you earn scheme and letter from Scheme administrators confirming savings made till date. Also I have got shares within company and letter from scheme administrator showing how much they are worth.

List looks good to me except few points mentioned below.

1. Include few more payslips from 2014 year i.e from April 2014 to July 2014 to match the bank statments and P60's

2. I would say you can include August payslp and provide temporary statement from bank (which is printed on letterhead paper) covering the period August 20th to 27th/28th whenever your salary credits.

Good luck!!
