Hello Everyone,
I've got the greatest news! I opened my post box today (Sunday) to find the 2nd class brown envelope! I had checked my post box on Saturday around 12:15pm thinking the postman must have been and there was no letter then. I only checked today as an afterthought on my way to the mall and imagine my biggest surprise!

Date of approval: 20th Aug
Date delivered by postman: 29th Aug
Date retrieved from post box: 30th Aug
Date of ceremony: I need to call the council to book

Also, I used the change of circumstances weblink to change my address and they sent the approval to my new address even though they never acknowledged my request.

Guys, for you all waiting, your approval is probably sorted and on its way to you. Be strong guys! I really wasn't expecting this pleasant surprise on a Sunday considering I was only just having a good whinge a few days ago!

I thought the same too but my letter says to contact the council. Perhaps it's got something to do with the fact that I changed addresses? Who knows!

It might depend on the council. My letter said "Please contact the authority using these details within 21 days of the date of this letter to book your ceremony."

The ceremony depends on your council. Me and my husband needed to call the councils (different councils) and never received any letters from them with a date. So call them and you will see!

I called the council like it said in the approval letter. They looked me up and already knew I had been approved. They gave me a date. Later, I got an email from them with an attached PDF letter confirming the date and time. This is NCS Gloucestershire. Yours might work different.

Can't remember the exact dates of when I got my biometrics done, but it was about three weeks from the application. Same with the money being taken out of my account. Good luck for those who are waiting. I'm sure it will happen soon. I was told my application was fairly straightforward, and it took 5 months to process.

I applied as a single applicant, with 5 years work permit and 3 yrs ilr. I think there are factors like which council you apply from at play, but tbh it just seems like they are processing as fast as they can at the moment. I don't think I did anything special apart from wait.

I know we just have to wait for our turn. But its good to know that HO seem to follow this trend of clearing single applicants before looking into family. So far, I know one April applicant who along with partner received his/her approval.

Hey, so I have just called the council today and they have confirmed my ceremony for 8th Sept. I received a confirmation email and an invitation to this effect immediately. I noticed my council has been very good with email communication even when I went to put in my NCS application for the citizenship

Another thing is I was told there was no group spaces until 22nd Sept. I happen to be travelling on 18th Sept and was initially given the option to pay £180. However, I called again and spoke to a nice lady who said they could squeeze me into the group ceremony for 8th Sept! I couldn't believe it. The morale of the story here is that If your ceremony day is too far away, try to ask nicely and you may get an earlier one.

To those who have been asking, I made a sole application.
