Travelling to France from UK

Post by noisyshoe » Wed Sep 02, 2015 9:16 am

Hi. I just want to ask, I am a Filipina with a Philippine Passport but got an ILR and married to a EU/British Citizen, do I still need a visa to enter France on a Ferry for one (1) day even if I travel with my husband?

Thanks in advance!

Check with French embassy but my understanding is you will need a Schengen visa.

While I don't know what visa checking system Ferry's use, I know that airlines use TIMATIC
The result show only "Family Member Residence Cards issued by United Kingdom to family members of an EEA nationals" is accepted by France.
UK ILR is not mentioned as being exempt for Schengen Visa

From this, it means you need to apply for a Schengen Visa.
Worth to point out, other Schengen Countries, e.g. Poland accept UK ILR

Checking airlines database

@ noisyshoe
If the french border control is on british ground you can ask for a visa for a family member of eu citizen at the border control.
You need marriage certificate, your passport and the passport of your accompanying husband.
Euro tunnel, St. Pancras and as far as I know Dover have the french border control on the british side.
