TIER 2 General VISA "Conditional" Offer and other queries

Post by aruntkkumar » Thu Sep 03, 2015 11:36 am

Dear Members,

I am currently on TIER 2 General VISA sponsored by my current employer that is valid till Jan 2017. My wife, who is a TIER 2 Dependent under me, also has the same validity. I have gone through a lot of posts which mentions that the dependent does not have to apply with me, if I am switching employer. It would just be me who has to file a new TIER 2 General VISA under the new sponsor/employer. Could someone please confirm the same?

After checking the Tier 2 - Changing Employers Guide, it is mentioned that a conditional offer letter needs to be obtained from the new employer. Could some one please let me know what those conditions might be? This is just for awareness and to explain the same to my new sponsor.

I also heard a rumor that TIER 2 General VISA would not be processed after 2018. Is it true and if not do they have any conditional clause, like earning a minimum of £ 35,000 pa? I would only be eligible for ILR by Feb 2019.

I am sorry if I am asking the same question. If so, kindly guide me to the correct post and I would check the same.

Thanks & Regards

Reading this post will help.

Where is this "Tier 2 - Changing employers guide"? Please provide link.

245HF, 245HF-SD, Appendix I.

Ah! I thought you were referring to an official guidance document ... but this turns out to be opinions of a member posted on the forum.
I'll leave that question to be answered by someone else.

Thank you.

Also a generic doubt. TIER 2 (Dependent) members could also apply for ILR after 5 years, right? Or do they have wait a couple of years before applying for the same?

Yes, but only if the Tier 2 migrant they are dependant on is applying for ILR (at the same time) or has been granted ILR already.

Hi Everybody,

I have a doubt regarding the immigration health surcharge. Do I need to pay the immigration health surcharge, as the gov.uk mentions that you may have to pay the same in addition to your visa application fee.

Could someone clarify this please.

Thanks & Regards
