ILR

Post by sri11 » Mon Nov 05, 2007 4:59 pm

Could anybody advice on ILR application merging HSMP and WP times.
I was on workpermit from 04/2003 to 07/2005. Then I was asked to convert to permit free training visa. I converted to HSMP in 05/2006 and will apply for extension in 04/2008.
Am I eligible for amalgamation of my WP and HSMP periods?
I had my WP until 12/2005 but was asked to change over to permit free due to the doctors training rules in force then.
Thanks

You have a break between the WP and the HSMP because you were on permit free - this means that you cannot apply for ILR until 2011, when you have been on the HSMP for five years.

WP amalgamation

Victoria,
Does this apply even if I was forced by the deanery to convert to permit free training visa? I was told that i had to be on a training visa to continue on the job that i had started in july 2005 and hence had to convert to permit free training from a work permit in a hurry.
Thanks

It applies in all circumstances, I'm afraid.
