Criminal Conviction: Hope for me?

Ok,

Any advantage of giving educational details like British Diploma and Degree?

I have declared the serious conviction, which I mentioned initially in this thread. Someone proposed that a short cover letter explaining how I have turned my life around may help.
I know this is subjective, but can pro-actively clarifying something which is not asked for create a doubt?

There is one thing i have learned so far.

The Home Office isn't there to Punish people for their Convictions.

The Courts should / will have already done that with the relevant punishment ( Fine, Community Service etc.. )

Just be 100% honest, as everything will be checked.

I spoke to a friend of mines who works in the Home Office and he said that as long as any Conviction has not resulted in any Jail Time or isn't linked with Sexual / Terrorism then you should be fine.

I'm going to apply for my British Citizenship in September, the worse thing you can do is try and hide / disguise any offence as they always have ways of finding out and then you get hit with " Dishonesty " allegation which will result to a potential 10 Year Ban.

HO isn't bothered to know the personal or other reasons that led you to offend. That you were convicted or not is what they must know from your application form.

Our family i.e. myself and my EEA spouse claimed housing and council tax benefit few years back.
It was claimed appropriately and transparently.
Is it seen with wrong eyes by the HO in anyway?

This is what I am submitting with my application for BC. It is going to be a direct application. Please comment if something needs to be added or removed. I reside in Scotland.

1: My Indian passport 01 with old vignettes. (EEA entry)
2: My Current passport with PR.
3: Life in the UK test report
4: SELT English test number
5: EEA spouses passport and PR's certified true copy.
6: Letter from the HMRC which has the full employment history from the year 2010 till current.
God bless HMRC, now I would not need to submit employment letters except the current one.
Please confirm?

7: Correct Fees and Special delivery envelope.

Now I am stuck on the following section and I quote:

Evidence of lawful residence during the 5 (or, if the applicant is married to or in civil

If I have a PR, then why do I need to supply the above information? ^^
