National Insurance Number on application

Post by Ben170292 » Mon Sep 07, 2015 7:56 am

Hi,

On the Application form for British Citizenship by descent it asks for a National Insurance Number, Do I need to put this? I don't have one as I am from Australia, If I need one how do I apply for one from here? or can I use my Australian Tax File Number?

Thanks

If you don't have one, leave it blank (I am fairly certain the form/question/guide says something like '....if you have one'). You cannot apply for it from Australia and your tax ref info from Australia is of no relevance.
