PBS dependant queries and the 30 days entry vignette

Post by saliame » Mon Aug 03, 2015 12:54 pm

Hi All,

Sorry, can someone please explore this, i know it is clear but just verifying what i understood by the below text copied from UKVI web:

If you applied from outside the UK
When your leave is granted, you’ll be issued a 30 day vignette. The vignette is valid for 30 days from the date you said you’d arrive in the UK (even if you arrive at a later date).

For instance, i have a plan to visit back home in Christmas and bring my wife along with me, and I put intended travel date say 10th Jan'16, and apply for her dependent visa in Sep'15, will here visa start from Jan'16 or the day it was issued? Sorry again if it is silly one, also if the salary slip requirement is mandatory?

Many Thanks in advance.

10 Jan 2016, if the decision to grant a visa is taken before 10 Jan 2016.

If you wish the travel date to be 10-Jan-16 or anytime within 30 days thereafter, you should not apply before 11-Oct-15 (ECB9.5).

Hi All

Hope you are doing great !

I was just going through immigration forum and found cases quite similiar to mine.

I am on tier 2 general visa living in the UK. My wife applied for tier 2 partner visa in september and got her visa approved 2nd october and passport back.

Now the concern is the 30 days temporary visa on the passport. I clearly stated in the form that intended date of travel is 9th january 2016 but they gave me visa starting 1st october and expiring 31st october this month. What should I do?

Should I apply for a new 30 days visa? or challenge them since its their mistake of not giving me correct dates.

If you can please reply me any suggestions.

Thanks

regards

You can only apply for a visa up to 3 months before you intend to travel. It appears you applied to soon. Can she not travel within the time it has been issued?

You would need to apply for a new 30 day vignette if she is not able to travel now or alternatively, raise the issue with them.

Thanks for prompt reply.

Yes, I have raised the issue still waiting for their reply.

But since she has been approved with the visa, it should be on us when to travel to the UK.

One more question, if she applies for a new 30 days visa, her main decision wont be effected right?

No she cant travel this month because we have vacation planned in december and i have booked the holidays and cannot change.

Do you think applying for a new 30 days visa will be a good option? Will I get the dates I want?

thanks

regards
