VISITOR VISA VALIDITY ( LATE ARRIVING)

Post by sudhibabu » Tue Sep 08, 2015 12:48 pm

Hi,

I have sponsored my uncle and aunt visitor visa for 6 months. here are the details of their visa.

Valid from : 18/03/15
Valid to: 18/09/15
Type of visa : C
Number of entries : MULT
Maximum stay : 180 days

However they have not arrived yet and they are planning to come this month.

My questions are

i) Should they enter and leave before 18/09/15 ?
ii) if they enter before 18/09/15 , can they stay 2 weeks after that as max stay is 180 days ?

Thanks & Regards,
Sudhibabu

Yes to both your question

They have to leave the UK on or before the expiry date. Given that the 18th September is next week Friday, when exactly did they want to arrive? If they arrive on the 18th, it is unlikely that they will be allowed to enter the UK.

CR001, I think the OP's question is, does the 180 days stay have to occur within the days specified or is the visa date limitations just for the date of arrival and the 180 days limits applies after that.

How does one turn the new blue highlights and underlines off?!! I find them extremely annoying not to say a little patronising! Like I don't know what 'Regards' means!

Right, thanks so to clarify then :

The 180 days is the time between visa valid from date (18/03/2015) to the visa expiry date (18/9/2015). They cannot stay in the UK beyond 18th September 2015. If they have not travelled in time, they have effectively lost out on using the visitor visa and would need to apply again if they wish to visit.
