Re: 2015 Citizenship Approvals

Post by lthy » Tue Sep 15, 2015 12:29 am

Applied - 23 May 2015
Ist letter - 28 May 2015
2nd letter - 29 July 2015

Any chances I will get approval for 16 th October 2015 ceremony?

In-case if I missed 16th October 2015 ceremony, can anybody tell me how many days before the ceremony do people will get approval letter sent ? approx

How much time will be given to submit fee and GNIB card to INIS after receiving approval letter?

I have travel plans from mid of December 2015 to Mid of Jan 2016. Bit worried if the approval letter gets sent around that time.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I think there is almost no chance for the ceremony on 16 October but I hope that there is one big ceremony still left for this year. Hope we all get in that

Hi Guys, i sent an email this morning to citizenship help desk and got this reply

From: Citizenship Info (citizenshipinfo@justice.ie) This sender is in your safe list.
Sent: 15 September 2015 10:29:01
To: ABC (ABC@hotmail.co.uk)

Hi ABC,

Your documents have been received and you will be invited to attend a
future Citizenship Ceremony. There are no dates set for any future
Ceremonies yet. It may be 2-3 months before you are invited to a future
ceremony. As soon as one has been announced it will appear on our website
http://www.inis.gov.ie/ .This office will be in touch with you in this
regard in due course.

Regards

Niall O'Callaghan
Citizenship Division

What does it mean ? people on this forum are saying they have got invitation letters while citizenship help desk said no dates set yet ,very confused

OR
2. there maybe a ceremony in Dublin later this year and you will be invited for that.

@Ithy
Last year in total 4 +1 = 5 ceremonies took place i.e. 4 big ceremonies: in January 2014, March 2014, July 2014 and September 2014, then there was a small ceremony in November 2014 in Cork.
This year 3 big ceremonies have already taken place, ie in January 2015, April 2015 and July 2015, and presumably small ceremony in Galway - 16/10/2015.

Keep calm, worry less about your application and look after yourself... It will happen for you soon and you shall have your approval in hand hopefully for the next ceremony in January 2016.

YES OF COURSE! You can travel without your GNIB card. All you need to have handy is a copy of your approval letter, that's all! You show the immigration who attends to you at the airport your approval letter and that you're waiting to be called for the citizenship ceremony. They are aware too as it all comes up on their system too once they check up on your details on your passport. :D

You've just been rightly answered and if not satisfied, why don't you contact INIS for advice?
