I have not yet received the approval letter or the passport back. I was not expecting the BRP to arrive before the other things. But I am happy it did.
Received the passport with the approval letter in the same envelope in Royal Mail Special delivery

I think the current refugee issue made HO extremely busy. FYI, currently it's the peak time for student visas. Many foreign students exchange their visas at this time in the UK.

Has anyone been asked by DX if they have a tracking number? I just called DX to see if they may have a delivery for me but they said I needed a tracking code and I would have received a text with this which doesn't seem right to me (also wondering if anyone has received via Royal Mail - a friend of mine got hers through secure delivery via Royal Mail in April). Though it's been 5 working days since my approval, it seems that the average is approx 3 working days for the BRP to be delivered. I just want to start my new job already!!

That's a bit odd. Its almost two months since your bio enrollment. and more than 8 weeks since your application which is the usual max timeframe. You should write to them although I am unsure what would it yield. I am waiting for my biometrics in the same switching category. Its unfair to hold on to your docs for so long.

No it is not odd, it is unacceptable, and very frustrating. I dont understand how it can take such a long time for the application to process. That too when mine is a simpler case because of my PhD, T4 to T2 switch, etc. Thank god I am on T4 DES that allowed me to start on the job without having to wait for the new visa. But, it is being super unfair for my wife who has lost on a good job offer because her visa, and thus working rights, is not certain.

After getting fed-up waiting to hear back. I called up UKVI and they told me, "yeah your application is not complete", as if I dont know that. They could not give me any reason or information because they dont have any. When I asked what I can do then I was told, "you can wait"!!!! I mean seriously. After pestering politely I was told you can write to Case worked in Sheffield Office. But where are the contact details of this office? I could not find any email, phone number anywhere for the case workers office Sheffield.

Any idea, anyone, about this? We are getting very stressed and it is definitely not helping my wife's career.

Cheers!!!

Well there is not much I can suggest other than wait but I can see you have waited enough. I hope you get it soon. Just out of curiosity, is your employer well known? Have they sponsored Tier 2 employees before? Hope you have been represented well. Usually they would take longer on an application where they have reasonable doubts. I sincerely hope that's not the case for you.

My employer is not a super big company, but they have operations in two countries UK and US, have A rating, and I am definitely not the first employee from outside EU that they have sponsored for T2 Visa. There is definitely a chance that there is a problem in my application, but it makes no sense in waiting for 11 weeks for it.

I called the UKVI helpline again and was told a different thing. This person now says that there is no other way of contacting UKVI unlike the previous time when I was told that I should contact Case Workers in Sheffield. So more confused now.

Does anyone know the contact details for Case Workers office in Sheffield?

Thanks!!

a bit cpmplicated Case and i m started worrying now about my visa application

I first applied my tire2 visa application and got refused 03/07/2015 stating that my salary should be on the basis of 39 hours not for 40 hours ....
after the refusal i submiteted other application within 28 days of refusal on 28/07/2015. I enroled the bio matric finger prints on 6/08/2015 ...

on 28/09/2015 i received the home office letter stating that they require an other 2 months for my application to review ....

I am not sure that what went wrong in my application that they are taking longer then expected time

Congratulations on the approval. Can I please ask you, how do you know about approvals before receiving the documents. Is this specific intimation sent by UKVI? or is there a different way of knowing about it?
