contact your mp and consult a solicitor. looks like you were done.farfar wrote:Hi guys
sorry for my late reply as iam still recovering from the shock, as i was sent refusal letter on the 28/8/2015 claiming that i didnt fullfil the good character requirements as i entered the UK illegally on 3/3/2008
anyway here is my horrible experience with the HO
I came to the UK on 3/12/2007 holding my valid passport and valid visa for 2 years valid from 25/11/2007 to 25/11/2009
I landed in Manchester Airport as i said on 3/12/2007
On 3/3/2008 I claimed asylum and then was granted a refugee status on 16/12/2008.
I just want to understand how on earth I entered illegally if i was already in the UK and i entered using a valid visa issued from the British embassy from my home country.
I am still shocked, and that decision has turned my life into a hell and turned it upside down
This is just to show you how incompetence HO is!!!
terrible service,horrible and unlawful decisions
what i think has happened ,that they saw i claimed asylum so they assumed i entered illegally like most of the refugees and asylum seekers
but if my caseworker had done a bit more effort to check my full immigration history
she would have noticed that i had a valid visa for 2 years before i claimed asylum
Shocking story
shocking service
incompetency
typical HO
I applied for naturlization on 1/4/2015 received by HO 2/4/2015
i went through this exact process except probably worse. Just like you i requested a ROD which wasn't returned in 10 days. To put this in perspective this was back in june, and i only received it last week. When i called up they said that they couldn't find any record of a ROD and they would submit one know . Its only when i contacted my mp that they sent it within a week.PK_UK wrote:Still Waiting

Its going to be 6 months in 3 days and I have to travel abroad now.Submitted online form for the (RODs) Return of Documents. They were supposed to return the docs in 10 working days which they never did.Filled up another form to raise the issue of not receiving the docs.Wrote a letter to them as well.Even after that i didn't receive any reply.
Contacted my local MP, he intervened and spoke to Liverpool office. He was told that my request for RODs has never been noted on my file.(this shows how much care do they give to your request for the RODs).The lady from HO told that i will note it down on my file NOW.Its been 3 working days already now since MP spoke to HO still haven't received my Docs back yet.
Anyone who managed to get Docs from HO,Please advise!

To be honest i don't know how i would have coped if it wasn't for this forum.
Also thank you for whoever suggested i mail my local MP. I did just that and i received a letter back same day as i received approval saying that she had contacted the HO on my behalf and found out I had been approved on 11th Sep. I cant say for certain that this helped me get my approval returned quicker but it may do!
Also this email FurtherNationalityEnquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk actually gets you a reply! they wont tell you your status but can tell you if its actually being looked at.
