Hi All,

I have made MN1 application for my daughter early August. As per all of yours experience, i don't think I will get it in 3 months.
I have planned to travel to India with her next month and coming back within a month. She is holding Indian passport Hence it wont be a problem travel to India but difficult to come back.

Do I have any other option to take her back to UK on alternative route? I am thinking to apply for visiting visa for her from India to come back.
We are on ILR.
Does it effect to her MN1 in progress application if i will make her visiting visa application?
All Gurus please advice any other option.

Thank you all

I'm glad to hear you have had success! I'm still waiting on getting the biometric enrolment letter for my daughter (we applied around the same time you did, from the US as well) and now we are located in the UK and I can't seem to get a response on my change of address request so that the biometrics can be done here. So frustrating!! So it took them from July to September for them to have the biometrics and make a decision on your daughters' applications?
bizzywizzy wrote:We received our original documents in the post this morning along with a note that both of our applications for daughters had been approved. The certificates will be following in the post.

This has been very complicated and difficult but the end has come just before hitting the six month deadline for the HO.

I applied for my two daughters, both adopted while we lived in the USA. My wife and I are both British born but hold dual citizenship with the USA. Our daughters were adopted from China and became US citizens through that adoption. I applied in April 2015 while we still lived in the USA, the applications were received by the HO on 09/04/2015. I never heard anything for months. I took up a new job in England in late July, we moved to the UK in late June. For a few weeks before we moved I called the HO who could not find our applications. I had really hoped that we would have the certificates before flying back to England. The cases were still missing when we returned in June, admission to England was difficult for my girls when we landed at Manchester. After several hours my girls were admitted with a special stamp that gave us 6 months to resolve their immigration status. We then applied for premium processing for ILR in early July, that was granted the same day. The very next day I received a phone call from the HO saying the MN1 applications had been located. I was able to update them with our new address in the UK and shortly after we received the biometrics request. First attempt at biometrics was rejected, the second must have ben successful!

So her we are applied on April 9th 2015, today September 26th 2015 we finally received notice that the cases were approved. Hope the certificates come quickly.

Yes , it's quiet frustrating but all we have to do is wait ... Can you do the following

1) Check with NCS if any updates come to them ( in case )
2) Check your references , have they received any call from HO ( in case)
3) Are you living at same address what was being mentioned in MN1 form ?
4) On 02/10/2015 pick up the phone and dial HO number while selecting " yes 6 months has been passed".

Thanks for ur prompt response I had spoken to NCS they said they haven't received anything
I met my references daily they dint mention. Any thing about this to me.
And I'm living same add very long time and I don't.have any plan to move
Still waiting for 02/10

UPDATE...

Date of receipt by UKBA: 24-09-2015
Date of debit of fees: 25-09-2015
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 26-09-2015
Date of Biometric: 28-09-2015
Date of receipt of approval: Awaiting
Date of receipt of documents:Awaiting
Date of receipt of registration certificate: Awaiting
Date of Post Received : Awaiting

Before looking at this forum, I was thinking the whole process will take few weeks as it is fairly straight forward, compared to other immigration applications. Now I know I have to be patient and wait for things to happen. But, my general feeling is that HO taking 6months for this process is ridiculous, especially while charging application fee of £749.
In other immigration applications, when they say the process can take UPTO 6months - but the majority of the applications get processed in 2-4months and only few cases take 6 months. In this particular application (MN1), the majority seems to be getting their results in about 5-6months. That is a clear indication that HO treat this application category as low priority. But, this delay affects every single family involved. Is there anything that can be done to flag this up?

seagull I called the HO enquiry number with dogged persistence and when I got nowhere I asked for a supervisor. After trying to get help for one supervisor who turned out to be not much help at all, I asked to speak to a different supervisor, the second one was helpful, apologetic, and actually got some results for us. So I suggest phoning and being insistent that they have to help you resolve the issues. My biggest fear was that they would send all of our irreplaceable adoption documents back to the USA to a home we no longer own. I told them that every single time I called, I think they were sick of hearing from me and so decided to find the cases and process them.

All the best,

Mike

Thanks so much for the tips. I'm about at my wits end, they also still have my passport and now I'm in the UK but can't prove that I'm a citizen to even begin to look for a job! I think I'll start harassing them as you have suggested.

I am applying for BC for my baby who was born here under section 1(3)

I need advise from those that have had similar experiences and experienced from members please:

Question 1.9 (child's current nationality)
My baby is just 5 months old and has no passport. What nationally should I put down. Same as mine or what please.

Question
1.21 - 1.27 (father's details)

My husband currently lives abroad and yet to join us. Should I leave his details blank?

Should I provide photocopy of his passport?

Do I need to go with our marriage certificate?

Question section 7 (consent to application)

Do we both need to complete this section

If yes to the above, as my husband still lives abroad, what's our opinion in terms of him providing consent

Hi,
1) Sorry am not sure of the form you are meant to use.But am sure the more knowledgeable people here will be able to help with that.
2) Yes,once parents hold ILR,you can apply to register children born in UK
3) My son didn't have ILR because he was born here.Children born here don't need to hold ILR but once parents hold ILR,you can register the child as a British citizen.
