Hi Everyone, at last.. approval letter just arrived

Please join me to thank God Almighty .. I just received my old passport back (which was requested by HO on the 11.09.2015 (letter dated 08.09.2015) and with a letter which says MY APPLICATION HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL AND I WILL SHORTLY RECEIVE A LETTER INVITING ME TO ATTEND CITIZENSHIP CEREMONY.

I have been very stressed and worried especially when my wife's approval came 2 weeks ago even though we applied on the same day.

Eligibility criteria: 5 yrs + 1yr ILR
Language criteria met: UK Degree and Life in the UK test.
Current nationality: Nigerian
Method of application : Royal Mail Next Day Delivery - special delivery
Date of application: 08/June/2015
Payment method CC/DC, Personal cheque, Bankers cheque etc: CC
Date of receipt by UKBA: 09/June/2015
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 16/June/2015
Date of acknowledgment: 18/June/2015
Date of receipt by Biometric info: 19/June/2015
Date of Submission of Biometric info: 22/June/2015

Is there any one still waiting to receive their invitation letter to attend citizenship ceremony? I got my approval on the 24.09.2015 (dated 21.09.2015). Just wondering how long it takes before you receive your invitation letter? Please share your experience

Nogzy - I would just be proactive and call the council for a ceremony date. Perhaps this would quicken the process. What is your council anyway?

Just one question We received the ceremony letter also in with the approval letter , booking to 27 Oct 2015 .. Is this usual ? I thought I need to call and book or I will have the option to select the date ?

Surprisingly mine is different case.

I applied with family 3 of us.

Me and wife received biometrics in june but they did not send it for my daughter.

While I was waiting for confirmation 16-sep arrived brown letter. I was happy hoping it is confirmation. It was biometrics letter for my daughter.

Now I don't know how long they will take to decide my applicaton.

Date of ceremony invitation: Called the council yesterday the 01.10.2015 and able to book the 02.10.2015 with my approval letter - still haven't received my invitation letter but who cares
Date of ceremony: 02.10.2015 - Done and passport application sent 02.10.2015

None of the 10th June applications seem to have processed. Did you apply as Tier G or BC spouse?

How annoying after having my approval they filled Out my country of birth incorrectly so I had to do all that citizenship ceremony then said it back for them to actually ammend everything. I'm so annoyed because they worst thing is they're saying is that it takes 8-10 weeks to be amended I have to send £162 payment as that's minimum to process any correspondence even though they will refund it bk to me because it wasn't my fault. The inconvenience of this all. I'm definitely going to need a holiday after this stress!!
