Tier 2 ICT Long term Established staff to T2 General

Need your suggestion - I have been living in UK from 2011 till date, the below are my visa details

Initial Visa
----------------------------------------------------------
Tier 2 ICT established Staff
> Filing date - 20th March 2011
> Bio-metric - 3rd April 2011
> Visa validity - from 20th April 2011 to 5th May 2014 (3 years)
> Entered UK on 15th May 2011

Extension
---------------------------------------------------------
Tier 2 ICT long term staff Leave To Remain
> Date of issue - 8th April 2014
> Visa validity - until 25th April 2016 (2 years)

1. Are there any restrictions on visa extensions or any number of extensions can be done on my visa.
2. Can I switch my ICT visa to tier 2 general and will I be eligible for ILR ?

1.) No. (extension filed within UK, right?).
2.) Yes - ILR after 5 years on Tier 2 G or 10 years long residence. (again, no new entry clearance applied for, right?)

Thanks for your response -
1. Do you mean extensions are possible and I can continue to extend my stay for 10 Years and eventually ILR (extensions applied while am in UK)
2. Yes, I have been living in UK for last 4.5 years on a single entry clearance - no new one applied. Do I qualify for for my ICT to T2G withing UK - and extend my stay for 10 Years.

What about the 6 year limit in the above mentioned case of switching from Tier 2 ICT Established Staff to Tier 2 General?

Does the 6 year period start from the day one entered in UK on Tier 2 ICT or only from the date of switch to Tier 2 General?

I am getting mixed responses on that so would appreciate if someone can clarify once and for all.
