It does seem like a long time since anyone posted about getting a RC or even a letter saying that RC will come in 10 days... Anyone out there get one of them in the last few days?

Hi guys. Been following this forum since last year and wanted to share my journey.

Last year my husband and I decided to get married and to move to UK. We got ready to apply for a Family Permit y everything went ok, thanks to the advice provided by this and many other forums.

My Family Permit app was sent on February 2015 but I requested it for late May, so the issuing date was May 17, 2015 and we traveled on May 27 as planned.

I, as the non-EEA person, started working on July 9, and my husband started on July 20. Last Sunday we decided was about time to send our applications for EEA FM and EEA QP, to give them time to send the COA letter so my employer would not sack me or anything like that (I have a friend that lost her job because the letter didn't arrive on time).

We filled both apps, provided marriage certificate (with its translation), photographs of relationship and passport photos, our current passports, six different proof of address + a copy of our tenancy agreement, bank statements, all our payslips + employment contract, the employer's declaration signed by a representative from the company, and copies of everything.

I've been a little worried about the fact that we work for a company, that uses an umbrella company to pay us. Actually we were payed through the umbrella until last week, when our actual company started paying us. Both times we received a letter from HM Revenue stating our change and that our employer is going to make all arrangements for our taxes, etc. (Actually, since I got two of these, I used the first letter as one of my proof of address)

We live in Liverpool, and this is our timeline:

Application sent: 27/09
Application received: 29/09
Payment charged: 30/09

We're waiting for the bio letter and to submit them, to request for my husband's EEA passport. Do you know if we can also request my passport? Since now they're issuing cards instead of vignettes...

Aaand, that's it. Waiting we are :)

My knowledge says people who got married in abroad or home country , they get quicker decision than UK.

Good luck, now a days avg time is 5 months, and HO do surprise visit in these cases :)

What's ur both nationalities??
Don't take my advice as granted., m not solicitor, thanks :)

My husband is spanish/venezuelan and I'm venezuelan. Both lived and worked in Venezuela all our lives until this year. We've been together for 7 years + 1 year married. We even studied together, hahaha.

I've been thinking about the surprise visit. Hopefully they'll come when both of us are at home :P

Hahaha, well they can visit my Facebook to see all our relationship :P
We'll try to stay at home. Every two weeks one of us work Saturday/Sunday.
BTW, my mother in law wants to visit us this month, she's on a tourist visa but she's planning to stay 3 weeks with us to avoid hostal prices. Is is ok, legal, and everything?

You should probably print out some of your Facebook pages and send them to the Home Office as proof of your long-term relationship. They like everything on paper.

I'm not sure that an unmarried partner is an "EFM" (Extended Family Member). I believe unmarried partners are just family member, same category as a spouse.

Also, I remember there was a discussion here about applying as a job seeker. And I just read a post by benu on the EEA2 Appeal Timelines forum: http://www.immigrationboards.com/eea-ro ... 75-80.html, where he says that his application was refused and in the decision letter the Home Office stated that one has to be employed for at least a year before becoming a job seeker in order to qualify. I don't think the law requires that but it could explain why it's not advisable to apply as a job seeker. Also, that was written in 2012 - a lot has changed since then.

Just read posts by chrissyevans17 at http://www.immigrationboards.com/eea-ro ... 5-600.html and couldn't resist saying once again that one cannot be too careful when dealing with solicitors, "advisers" and other scum out there. Time and time again I come across people who were screwed big time by all kinds of lawyers and such. And it appears that she used a big expensive law firm. If you must use them, don't trust them a single bit to do their job properly. You have to constantly supervise them and practically look over their shoulder 100% of the time. If they say they are going to mail a letter - don't trust them, get that letter from them and MAIL IT YOURSELF, otherwise you may end up in a situation like chrissyevans17 who started her journey through the UK immigration maze at 17, was still at it at 21, and appears that she is still looking for her way in it all the while caring for a newborn child and a British husband!!! You go girl!

To All August Applicants, have you had any update on COA or Residence card ? Please update. I have changed my address twice now and I have no idea where my letter could be. I received my COA with right to work, but i have not been able to conform if the home office has issued or sent out another mail to my spouse and I.

Thanks

Hi there,

I know. It is taking a while since I submitted my biometrics..more than a month so far.
My husband has been living and working in the UK for the last 20 years. So I wish i could be aware why there is such a delay.

Yes, I did contact them - I called HO twice..i was told nothing but the general information i knew already.
In the end they adviced me to send a complain via HO website.
Also, I emailed them 3 times after 21 days were expired but I haven't receved any reply.

What can I do?!..just to wait I guess and yes, it is quite upsetting I can admit cause I would like to start looking for a job but I have no idea when i will receive my COA letter.

It will be funny if September applicants will start receiving theirs before I get mine.
Anyway, thank you for your interest to my case *)
I believe I will get it soon!

not according to the info I found. From the Gov.uk website:
Extended family members

You can apply as an extended family member if you’re either:

-the unmarried partner of the EEA national and you’re in a lasting relationship with them that’s similar to a marriage or civil partnership
-a relative of the EEA national (or of their spouse or civil partner) but you don’t qualify as their family member

EEA FM & QP app

Applied: 12/06/15 (HO received 15/06/15)
Payment taken: 17/06/15 (two charges of £65, ok!)
Bio letter: 29/06/15 (my wife)
Bio Given: 30/06/15 (my wife)

I've moved to another address but I'm going to the application address (my previous address) every week to check the mail box.

Thanks

Hi Tati, I'm sorry to hear your case. I can understand how upsetting and exhausting it could be. I'm always worried whenever I have to deal with them. Now that I requested my passport back, I'm even a bit anxious and hopefully our passport can come back safely and normally without another battle....
Did you get direct phone call back from HO (after 0300 people register your details and HO staff can call you back) ? They could take a look at your case and might respond to you directly, if they sympathize your situation.

Hi everyone~
Just a quick look at the past few months timeline being published here.
Is it fairly to say that recently average 20-30 application for EEA2 ? and average 5 months to get RC? 8)

EEA FM & QP app

Applied: 12/06/15 (HO received 15/06/15)
Payment taken: 17/06/15 (two charges of £65, ok!)
Bio letter: 29/06/15 (my wife)
Bio Given: 30/06/15 (my wife)
COA: pending
RC: pending

I've moved to another address but I'm going to the application address (my previous address) every week to check the mail box.

Thanks

Leandro.
You can simply forward your mails to your new address, it won't cost that much and you don't need to be going for checking every week though :)
Stay blessed

Nope, the guy on phone told me that giving him my Case Ref number wouldnt change anything as he didnt have any access to information about my case and he didnt suggest to leave any details except to send a complaint to HO about their EEA service.
Do you think it is worth calling them again and persist on checking my case? I can't believe they ignored my emails 3 times(P.S. i included all neccessary information , so they wouldnt delete them straight away. But it didnt work for me)
