Spouse of an EEA/British citizen

Post by navodwickra » Fri Oct 09, 2015 9:29 am

Hi All,

My wife received her BRP card today and I was hoping it would contain something similar to "Spouse of an EEA/British citizen". Instead it says Spouse/Partner Route. Is this the case now?

Thanks
Navod

Flr(M) applications/BRPs do not say 'EEA/British Citizen' as Flr(M) can also be used for a spouse of a person on indefinite leave to remain.

What the BRP says, is correct.

I am pretty sure I have seen that on few visa vignettes before. Since I am a British citizen I thought they would have put that on her BRP card.

It's no biggy but would save time and money when we visit some EU countries such as Italy & France.

My BRP as spouse of BC did not say 'British Citizen'. Vignettes are different and have different wording but also only say 'to acc/join spouse' or similar.

Thanks CR001, I think old vignettes might had it.

A residence card as an EEA Family member is completely different to a FLR(M) spouse visa. They are two separate immigration routes (EU rules/directive & UK immigration)

A schengen visa will still likely be required although is issued free to spouse of BC.
