I have applied for my baby under 3(2) as I am a Bc through descent, my mother is British and my baby was born abroad early,
Date sent the application 01/10/2015
Fees are still in account, what's people's application processing time?
I am in Spain and been stuck here since she was born she is now 3 months, I am due to travel back to the uk in November as I live, work there, came to Spain on holiday, but I can't get a passport for my baby as she has no nationality at the moment,

Was your mother born in England too?
I'm just thinking cos if she was and so are you, it doesn't matter where the baby's born, will always be British so why apply under mn1

My mother was but I was born IN southafrica, I am a British citizen through desent

I was asked as why I didn't get a referee who is engaged with child professionally. I told the situation as the baby is too young (18 months) and didn't get any such chance. The council staff called up Home office and confirmed it's ok as the child was young and said would send letter to me if anything is in need.

Hi all,

Just a small news flash of sorts that the biometrics system may be down. My wife tried taking my kids to two south London post office locations over the past two days, At the first they said their system wasn't working at their location and that she should try another location. So today she went to another and were told the whole system is down.

I don't know how to find out when the system comes back up and needless to say this is annoying as our applications can't progress without biometrics being done.

If anyone knows how to find out when the system is back up I'd loved to hear it.

Understand your situation as i was in same boat but got approval for my son in 5 months time on 1(3) basis . I can only give you hope that it will come sooner or later . Just for estimation it will be around 3 months from Biometric date if you are lucky even lesser and to worst extent please add 5 months . You can send email to nationality inquiry address but i am not sure for any quick response. Regarding travel plans , if it's possible try to extend it ... if financially and socially , it's possible

Yay! My baby's approval letter and documents came in today. Her application timeline is as follows;

Application received by HO on 1 July.
Biometric invitation received and done on 24th Sept (almost 3 months waiting for it )
Approval dated 12th Oct (expected it in dec )

Plus, my baby's biometic picture was taken when she was crying and her mouth was wide open . I thought they would reject it but they were so understanding.

I think it's getting faster now. There is huge backlogs between Jul-Sep due to holidays but now everything is clearing up.
You can check reviews during Jul-Sep last year in the previous pages, It was huge backlogs as well
Hope we all waiting will get soon.
