Notification to a person who is liable to be detained.

Post by aangell5501 » Thu Oct 08, 2015 8:21 pm

Dear forum members,
Today I received this letter of Notication to a person who is liable to be detained ( immigration act 1971). I applied for my tier 2 visa in April, until now no decision has been given and now I get this letter. The letter has two sub parts,

Liability to detention: A: You are a person without leave who has been served with a notice of liability to removal or
B: Restrictions: You must reside at the address shown at the above address,
You must report to an immigration official.

If anyone has any idea about this letter, do reply to this query.

Zaibee,

Legal advisors are themselves baffled as to why this letter has arrived. I've spoken to two solicitors, both of them have said that this is something an applicant gets at the very end when the home office want them to abandon the UK.
Hope your gud luck works.
Thanks.

Is the Employer who sponsored your Tier 2 visa still on the UKVI approved sponsors list?

Thanks,
Hassan

Dear Hassanh,

Yes, the employer is very much in the sponsor list. Any ideas why this letter arrived?

Hi,

I have no clue why have you received this. Best is to phone UKVI and ask why have you received this letter.

Thanks,

Hi aangell5501, were you given a date and time in the letter to go into see an immigration official?

My husband has received the same letter and it is rather worrying.
