I am on tier 2 general (up to 3 years.) My wife is currently on student visa (tier 4). We both are Pakistani national. she wants to switch her visa from tier 4 to tier 2 dependent.
I believe We need to pay for her NHS surcharge? But when she go on NHS surcharge online form it ask for her visa route? Which category she need to select? Tier 2 dependent?
Also can you please advise she would be able to switch within UK or does she need to go back?

Your wife can apply to switch to tier 2 dependent whilst in the UK as long as she holds a valid visa.

Yes, she needs to pay the IHS.

Yes, you need to select Tier 2 dependent as the category, if that's the category she is applying under.

It's £200 per year for the IHS. So If your wife will be your dependent for 2 years, it's £400.

May be I am over caution so apologies if I am asking simple questions.
I have submitted my wife online application need few things to clarify please:

1) Online application there was question for her (are you currently PBS Dependent?). We said no because she is on tier 4 visa at the moment.
2) When we have completed the application it says we will receive acknowledgement letter and explanation the biometric test schedule as well. I believe we need to send the documents and application by post in the meantime? Or do we need to wait for the biometrics letter and then send the application to Home office after that?
3) I Believe I do not need to send or fill form SU07 in this case?

I am sending following documents please advise these are enough or do we need any further evidence:
1) Our marriage certificate (marriage location UK)
2) Mine and her passports
3) Mine and her bank statements. The savings are in my account over £2500. and these been there over 6 months so I guess that’s fine? Her account got very less savings.
4) MY last 3 pay slips.
5) Her passport size photograph

once you submitted the application, it would have told u to print the list of the docs that u have to send them, along with the sub mission sheet. Once they receive that, you will receive the letter for biometrics.
you dont need to send your passport or visa, just a copy of both will be fine.
maybe worth adding some proof of address showing cohab.
