Salary requirement for Tier 1 G migrant applying ILR

Post by hayya786 » Sat Oct 17, 2015 10:49 pm

Migrant workers will need to earn at least £35,000 to qualify for settlement in the UK, says the Home Office. Currently i am on Tier 1 General hsmp extension and I'll be eligible for my ILR via 10 year long term residence visa in September 2016 and if i want to apply through tier 1 general extension visa for my ILR then i ll be eligible in 2017 may. Will this threshold will apply on me as well or just Tier 2 migrants from 2016? I would be grateful if you could let me know please. Thanks

If you haven't already done so, you may want to read through this regarding extensions for Tier 1 General:

I am already on Extension, my next visa is ILR as i am on Tier 1 general Extension, my simple question is do i have to show 35k earning as well while going on ILR on basis of 10 year long term residence?

The £35k threshold is for Tier 2 ILR from April 06, not for 10 years basis.

From the UKVI Statement of Changes:
• There will be no changes to the settlement arrangements for Tier 1 migrants.

£35k/pa is not much if one has the skills/education to attract oneself as an emigre.

I was earning £28k in 1992 before I saw the light and started working for myself, and I was what, 31 then.

And I'm no genius.
