Congratulations on the approval. Can I please ask you, how do you know about approvals before receiving the documents. Is this specific intimation sent by UKVI? or is there a different way of knowing about it?
Many Thanks :)
My solicitor received a letter on the 9th October stating the approval. I believe it will take another couple of days for the passport and documents to arrive.

Hi Senior,

I have met a problem after my application is submitted. I change my job and the COS issued by new employer says I am in the Shortage Occupation list, and my skills met their requirement for shortage occupation. However, when I filled the online application, I wrongly chose the option as non-shortage occupation, and paid higher fee of course. Now I am starting to worry about this.

First, is the job I am doing does not seem to be the shortage occupation list published by UKBA. It is a research engineer job for automotive industry. The COS uses electrical engineer as the code. But does the A level sponsor has the right to intepretate or UKBA will check if the claming shortage occupation really meets their definition?

Actually that is the only concern I am worrying about. Shall I wait the result or write to UKBA sheffield to explain?

Regards,

Tier 2 General change of employment
Application submitted: Oct 3rd 2015
Biometric letter recieved : Oct 09 2015
Biometric enrollment : Oct 10 2015
approval date: waiting

Finally!! Congratulations.... Regarding the validity of the Tier 2 BRP, what does it say on the start date or date of issue? Is this 23 07 2015 or 06 10 2015? If it is latter, you should seek correction as this may be crucial when you apply for ILR after 5 years (considering that is your aim). I am sure you are aware that whilst you apply from within country , you can only get 5 years on Tier 2 General i.e. your extension after 2018 will only give you 2 years so you may end up short by a few days in 2020. However if the start date on the BRP is 23.07.2015, you should be fine.

When I went to Birmingham post office last Saturday there were a huge crowd of people waiting bio enrolment. Hence you can imagine the UKBA must be overloaded these days. :(

Thanks Gag285...

The start date on my BRP is 06/10/2015. I am definitely not pleased with the fact that I have got permit for 2 years 10 months, but I dont see why it would be a problem. Can you please elaborate on what you mean when you say it would be a problem for my ILR?

Referring https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/extend-your-visa, it states:
How long you can stay
You can apply to extend your visa for up to another 5 years, as long as your total stay is not more than 6 years.
So, I should be able to get an extension for longer than 2 years to make me eligible for ILR, i.e. 2 years and approx 3 months. Moreover, the visa duration matches my CoS which states job end date to be end of July 2018. For anyone making Tier 2 application, they should get a visa according to end date on their CoS and not according to when their BRP gets approved.

Please post a reply if you think what I am saying is incorrect. I can still request for admin review next week.

Cheers!!!

While you are correct about the end date of visa being not more than 3 years or CoS end date whichever is higher, read this - https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/switch-to-this-visa go to section How long you can stay! The max time on switching to this visa is 5 years but I guess with your next extension , you may chose a 3 year Cos and get 2 years 2 months taking you to full 5 years but I am sure you do realize with NHS fee charged for full year (even though you may be asking for 2 months over 2 years) it would mean shelving out more cash. Just a thought !! I was not entirely accurate on the ILR timeline though.
You can apply to extend your visa for up to another 5 years, as long as your total stay is not more than 6 years.

No I didn't. Seems silly they can't do a tracking or application.

Did you try to to contact UKVI or is it even possible?

I submitted the application in first week September but haven't had a response yet.

On UKVI website it says that it take up to 8 weeks to process the application. Considering this, it is the 7th week for my application. I'm hoping I should receive a response either this week or next week at latest. On the contrary, I have noticed some people have already received response who submitted application in the same time frame as us.

Looking at the cases where people have received response before us. My best judgement is UKBA prioritises application based on date when your visa is running out.

Unfortunately, we cannot contact UKVI if your application processing time is less than 90 days. They don't entertain any telephonic enquiries related to visa processing.

Please keep us updated as it progresses.

Thank you!

Guys the 10 days Priority service is really good, I sent them an email on 14.10.2015 at 08:30am, got a response at 14:00pm that I can send application by Priority service. Completed online application and their service is really good as you have some one who will respond to your emails, and at every status they email you, when they posted me my Biometrics, when application received when they dispatched my documents back etc. its worth the extra cost.

I came in UK 2009 for my higher studies in Law
Successfully completed my LL.M and after my PSW I have got sponsorship in a company as a legal advisor
My current visa was expired in September 16, 2015.
I have applied for my extention in June 29, 2015 for myself and my 3 dependents (wife and two kids)
July 3rd, 2015 I have got my Biometric invitation letter and we have done our Biometric on the same day.
August 21, on the 8th week after submiting our application, we got a letter from home office informing us they need further more time to decide upon our application
My last salary was 22,000 per year and my the new salary will be £44,100, but for 32 hrs pro rata and my employer is willing to pay that as he is very satisfied for my performance and he also started 3 new companies.
But now its around more than 4 months after submitting the application.

Pls can anyone advise upon what may tbe cuase of the delay of the processing or anyone have the same experience befofore.

Your help would be highly appreciated.

May I ask why you got only 2 years for your extension? I saw another person who got only 2 years for their extension too. I thought we will be given another 3 years extension for our visa.

There are some people who got 3 years as an extension in previous pages. So, I am wondering is there a reason behind that?
